Congressional investigators find irregularities in FBI’s handling of Clinton email case

The Hill: Republicans on key congressional committees say they have uncovered new irregularities and contradictions inside the FBI’s probe of Hillary Clinton’s email server.

For the first time, investigators say they have secured written evidence that the FBI believed there was evidence that some laws were broken when the former secretary of State and her top aides transmitted classified information through her insecure private email server, lawmakers and investigators told The Hill.

That evidence includes passages in FBI documents stating the “sheer volume” of classified information that flowed through Clinton’s insecure emails was proof of criminality as well as an admission of false statements by one key witness in the case, the investigators said.

The name of the witness is redacted from the FBI documents but lawmakers said he was an employee of a computer firm that helped maintain her personal server after she left office as America’s top diplomat and who belatedly admitted he had permanently erased an archive of her messages in 2015 after they had been subpoenaed by Congress.

The investigators also confirmed that the FBI began drafting a statement exonerating Clinton of any crimes while evidence responsive to subpoenas was still outstanding and before agents had interviewed more than a dozen key witnesses.

Those witnesses included Clinton and the computer firm employee who permanently erased her email archives just days after the emails were subpoenaed by Congress, the investigators said.  read more

  1. How astounding
Even tho everyone on the face of the earth
Has known it to be a crime
    For more than 2 years
Let’s make sure we congratulate the
    Congressional investigators.
    AND
How much are they being paid when
The rest of the people on the face of the earth
    Are not being paid.

  2. Bob- Thanks, I saw that. It just confirms what we already knew about the maid printing hillary’s classified emails. The FBI never talked to the maid. maybe THIS DOJ will. Who knows.

  3. How are these so-called irregularities not called
    CRIMINALITES
    It’s either a CRIME
    or it’s NOT !
Why does it depend on whether you’re a
    republican or s democrat ?

  4. If everything goes good . Ain’t gonna believe what is going to happen. On January 4 10th 20th this revelations that will shock everyone stay tuned.

  5. Bob, I hope you’re right. Frankly, I’ve given up all hope that anything will ever happen to these people. Any more, I just read these articles and shrug.

  6. Eric Holder was found in contempt of Congress. Nothing ever happened to him. Why should I be excited about these new findings? Maybe Congress will ask “questions,” which is their counterpart to Obama’s “firm letters” or whatever meaningless drivel it was that he did.

  7. When you delete a hard drive before handing it over as evidence, that’s a felony.

It’s only a long-winded debate when the person doing it has power.

  8. To the family of IOTW don’t loose faith evil will not win. The fact is that a lot of stuff will coming out . And a lot a people are going to jail. Be patience . Because revelation are coming out and it will be shocking .

  9. Shocking, Bob? I’ve been shocked for years over some of this stuff. Thanks, and again, I hope you’re right but am afraid you’re not.

  10. I never voted for a single fuckin’ “Congressional Investigator”.

We know crimes were committed and admitted to by the FBI when James Comey stood in front of TV cameras and blatantly told us.

Go watch the video. Being a lawyer he couldn’t put things in simple terms but if you are a native english speaker and read the Cliff Note version of USC 18, he enumerated the crimes committed. And then told us that was OK.

    Because, Clinton.

  11. Burner — You smacked the nail directly on its head. We need to constantly remind ourselves who all these people are — and were — the Uniparty. Very few congressional oversighters were very keen on prosecuting anyone. They all thought (and some actively worked) Clinton would become president. The R cowards didn’t want the Clintons mad at them.
