Spero: Writing in The Washington Post on Friday, feminist Kate Harding wrote that Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) should not resign despite allegations of sexual assault allegations. Harding, the author of “Nasty Women: Feminism, Resistance, and Revolution in Trump’s America,” believes that Franken should not resign because he is a Democrat. She admitted that having sexual abusers resign, who happen to be Democrats, would hinder her political agenda. Therefore, Democrats should be forgiven.
Harding argued that there may be other Democrats guilty of sexual misconduct. She wrote that “if we set this precedent in the interest of demonstrating our party’s solidarity with harassed and abused women, we’re only going to drain the swamp of people who, however flawed, still regularly vote to protect women’s rights and freedoms.” MORE
