Hillary Clinton: ‘I really tried to get out of going’ to Trump inauguration

WT: Hillary Clinton admits she “really tried to get out of going” to President Trump’s inauguration.

The former first lady and failed Democratic presidential nominee said on BBC One’s “The Graham Norton Show” that she asked the remaining former presidents if they were going to the Jan. 20 inauguration in an effort to justify not showing up herself.

“I really tried to get out of going,” Mrs. Clinton said. “We thought ‘OK, maybe others aren’t going.’”

She explained that it’s tradition for former presidents and first ladies to attend a presidential inauguration, regardless of party, to show “support” and “continuity of our government.”

“We called the Bushes, and the elder Bushes were in the hospital, which I think was legitimate,” she said, causing the audience to laugh. “And so then, we called the younger Bushes and they said ‘yeah, we’re going.’ We called the Carters, and they said ‘yeah, we’re going,’ so Bill and I looked at each other and we said, ‘We gotta go.’ “

Mrs. Clinton went on to call Mr. Trump’s inauguration speech “dark” and “divisive,” taking a line from her new book that it was a “cry from the white nationalist gut.”  MORE HERE

  1. I remember back from the 1996 presidential campaign that one of the alphabet stations recorded her in a conversation. She stated that she was thinking about having another child.

Let that sink in as at the time she was 49 years old and was apparently trying to draw a comparison with herself and Mrs. Robert Dole, Elizabeth. That is when I realized how biased the media was.

  2. She is such an embarrassment to this country. To think that she thought her absence would have been so paramount on such a day — regardless of whoever else might have been inaugurated. So petty and mean-spirited. She continues to remind us all why she would have made a piss-poor executive and leader; incredibly bad judgement fueled by emotion and personal vindictiveness.

  3. When you consider that our news broadcasts all across the world and watched by many millions and see this garbage is it any wonder how Americans are viewed others. Talk about dirty laundry, these scum have no shame.

  4. Don’t forget that she got the popular vote so her opinions are not hers alone.

I work around almost nothing but hardcore black and white Leftists. I know what they think because I know what they read before they do.

There are some real Fake News consumers out there and it starts with people who frequent ThinkProgress, Raw Story, and the Democratic Underground.

I do love that she’s found her true voice though. Always knew it was there. Every word she speaks is sucking oxygen and money away from whoever is coming next.

Good luck Biden/Kerry 2020. The Party of Never Trust Anyone Over 30 has become the Party of Never Trust Anyone Under 75.

  5. “Mrs. Clinton went on to call Mr. Trump’s inauguration speech “dark” and “divisive,” taking a line from her new book that it was a “cry from the white nationalist gut.”

Yes like all those who knew Harvey Swinestein was a rapist and kept mum about until it was “convenient” for them she sat there and didn’t speak up against such hate! And if she now hates whites so much why doesn’t she just late-term abort herself?

  6. Because that’s what Presidents do!

When a war “breaks out,” you call Tony Blair, and ask what he’s doing. When the campaign financiers crash the entire, global economy, again, you call and make sure Stalin’s still dead.

You’ve gotta be ready for that 2 A.M. call. No not that one! You’re deplorable.

  7. I don’t know about other folks, but I enjoyed watching her die a thousand deaths on national TV that day.

Maybe she’ll still be around for Trump’s second inaugural.

I’m sure The Donald can arrange for her to get a one-day pass, even if she does have to appear in an orange jumpsuit.

    Yeah, yeah, I know – but I can dream, can’t I?

  8. With a heart so vile and caustic, no cancer cells would survive in her, much less increase in number. We’re stuck with this witch for a long time.

  9. She was there? I bet wild horses couldn’t have kept the walking talking, corpse away from ANY spotlight.

She’s like a broken noisey toy. The switch broke in the ‘on’ position and no matter where you stuff it or how many times you hit mute, or even throw it away, it returns. Even cutting wires to the unremovable batteries doesn’t work! I swear, HRC is where the creator of ‘CHUCKY’ got the inspiration.

  10. “When you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing; when you see that money is flowing to those who deal not in goods, but in favors; when you see that men get rich more easily by graft than by work, and your laws no longer protect you against them, but protect them against you … you may know that your society is doomed.”

  11. A day without President Elect Hillary Rodham Clinton whining about her stunning upset is always disappointing. Thankfully, there have been very few of those since she embarked on her Whining Tour. One of these days, Clinton is going to have a seizure on live television, and we will get to relive it just like we did when she came down with pneumonia on the street in New York City. We can only hope.

  12. Hopefully, this time next year, she’ll be doing a collect call interview, telling Rachel Maddow how she really tried to get out of going to prison.

  13. Nice temperament.

You know, it’s just awfully good that someone with the temperament of Hillary Clinton is not in charge of the law in our country.
