“We have no word yet on his fate or the reason behind the crash,” Brig. Gen. Tahseen Ibrahim told The Associated Press. “We are in contact with the Americans to get more details.”

Ibrahim confirmed the pilot is Brig. Gen. Rafid Mohammed Hassan but said the pilot’s fate still is not known. He said the rescue operation is difficult because the plane hit a gas pipeline in a rural area.  more

  1. He crashed into a gas pipeline, duh?

    Did he eject?

Did he take lessons on just “guiding” the plane?

We need the orange box. (Black is racist)

I know. I’m a wise ass, but once is enough to be sold the fucking Brooklyn Bridge.

And his name is not Colin Kelly.

  2. He’s a General and it’s taken him 4 years so far? We haven’t been told the whole story. Most rag heads marry relatives and are color blind. Could this be part of the problem? Also, during Iranian revolution all Iranian student pilots were called home from their US training bases. And promptly executed. Same thing about to happen in Iraq? Easier for the General to just auger in?

  3. Yes, four years IS a long time to learn how to fly an F-16, even if he didn’t know the first thing about flying when he started. Maybe he’s being “disappeared” to avoid going back to Iraq.

  4. My dad was a USAF pilot in the 60’s/70’s. He helped train 2 Iranian pilots. We had them over to our house for dinner on several occasions. They brought gifts. This was several years before the fall of the Shah in ’79 with the islamic revolution.
