UK Appoints ‘Minister for Loneliness’

Breitbart London: The collapse of the traditional family and local social structures is now so advanced the British government has been forced to appoint a so-called Minister for Loneliness, to combat the near-total isolation from other human beings that millions of people suffer.

Britain’s atomised society, in which individuals are assumed to be self-sufficient and little importance is placed on community or family bonds, means an estimated nine million people, many of whom are elderly retirees abandoned by their families or the disabled, are affected by loneliness.

The government announced Wednesday that Conservative Minister for Sport and Civil Society Tracey Couch was to become the first ministerial lead on tackling loneliness, following work on the problem initiated by murdered Member of Parliament Jo Cox.  read more

  1. Next thing you know, they’ll approve assisted suicide to clean up this problem, save the NHS a boatload of money and reduce the number of pensioners taking more out of the system than they put in. Leftist policies always ruin a society

  2. I’m sure they asked Peter Hitchens to take the post but he is too busy writing the obituary for a once great and proud people.

  3. I’ve never, ever been so lonely as to be desperate enough to ask the government to “step in and help me”. Even if I was terribly lonely (which I’m not even though I am a genuine, certified hermit), I’m not insane.

Do you really want a govt. stooge to come to you and say, “I’d like to introduce you to your new room mate who is also lonely. This is Jeffrey …. Jeffrey Dahmer.”

  4. Has anybody asked the Ministry Of Truth if this is real?

Orwell is laughing in his grave.

    Churchill is glad he’s dead.

  5. it would only take a strong intelligent man to take over much of the world today and the wimps being subjugated would just sit back and take it or even applaud it happening.

    “minister for loneliness”

clear example of government creating a problem then coming up with their solution for it.

    > it would only take a strong intelligent man to take over much of the world today

Why would an intelligent perxon want much of the world, today? Even if xe wants the earth, itself. Is it intelligent to exert one’s own strength, clearing the land, today? Rather than exerting onexelf doing any of the other things one can do. While others clear the land.

If loneliness means the avoidance of liberals, muslims and illegals….how do I get on board??

It’s that type of disloyalty, citizen, that requires the creation of The Ministry of Loneliness.
