Been saying tanks are not the owner of a battlefield anymore for the last 20 years due to current asymmetric warfare and drones even back in the early 2000s. Thank god the islamists are too stubborn and did not figure it out and stuck with IEDs, as bad as those were. No base or convoy would have been safe if drones ruled the city… and same way in every future conflict.
FPV drones and automated are a nightmare regardless of defense capabilities we have. Single stealth assassin drone, mass drone swarm, animal or bird mimic drones, bug drones (still can kill you). We are not far away from that and they will be cheap.
Now do civil unrest. How can LEOs stop that if leftists get serious about violence and want to stay in the shadows…
