“We will have peace,” said Vladimir Putin at last thickly and with an effort. Several of the Russians cried out gladly. Vlad held up his hand. “Yes, we will have peace,” he said now in a clear voice, “we will have peace, when you and all your works have perished–and the works of your dark master to whom you would deliver us. You are a liar, Zelinskyy, and a corrupter a men’s hearts. You hold out your hand it to me, and I perceive only a finger of the claw of Soros. Cruel and cold! Even if your war on me was just–as it was not, for were you ten times as wise you would have no right to rule Ukraine for your own profit as you desired–even so, what will you say of your drones in Donbas and the Russian children that lie dead there? When you hang from a gibbet at your window for the sport of your own crows, I will have peace with you and Soros. So much for the house of Russia. A lesser son of great sires am I, but I do not need to lick your fingers. Turn elsewhither. But I fear your voice has lost its charm.

Thanks “If.” That should go into the history books.

Pretty much^^^^^
I have no faith in Zerohedge or Bloomberg for credible journalism where this war is concerned, and the latest I read from PDT is threatening moar of muh crippling sanctions on Russia. That may be tough talk for some other purpose, or misdirection to obscure actual negotiations, but sanctions are counterproductive and toxic to the sanctioners.
Putin is in the driver’s seat, and Russia will continue to fight until its clearly stated goals are achieved. That time may be soon approaching, but the best PDT can do here is to keep finding good reasons to stop helping Ukraine, and to make Europe see that it cannot help Ukraine on its own. And that last part is the hardest of all, because European leaders in general, and NATO leaders in particular, are stubborn fools who refuse to admit their debilitating weakness.
So while there may appear to be journo hints of intimations concerning the start of talks about the possibility of a ceasefire or truce or whatever, it just ain’t happening as Spring approaches, and Russia is rolling methodically across the steppe as it demilitarizes and denazifies Ukraine. PDT may have a master’s hand in speeding up this process, but it’s by knowing when to get out of the way.

President Trump isn’t going to stop until there is peace.

I’m getting so sick of hearing about sadsack Ukraine that after a truce is achieved, I hope Putin levels it with demo test of his hypersonics.
Such an inconsequential place in a big wide world.
