Administration Hits on Means to Limit Frivolous Lawfare

Law & Crime

As courtroom losses pile up in myriad cases and controversies, the Trump administration is now looking to amass a collection of tentative money judgments in its favor that would come due later on down the line — if and when the government’s defeats are overturned on appeal.

On Thursday, President Donald Trump signed a memorandum “directing federal agencies to enforce a rule mandating financial guarantees from parties requesting” injunctions or restraining orders in lawsuits, according to a White House fact sheet about the policy.

In the memo, U.S. Department of Justice attorneys are now directed, in all cases going forward, to “demand that parties seeking injunctions against” the administration “must cover the costs and damages incurred” if the government is “ultimately found to have been wrongfully enjoined or restrained” by a lower court. 2. I had a property line dispute with a couple of new neighbors 20 years ago…blah blah blah…It escalated to the post where I had to pay $3K for a survey which they promptly submitted for their fence permit. The cunt didn’t think that was good enough so she put a restrainting order on me to keep me out of my own back field. I went before the judge the next day and told him that the restraining order meant I couldn’t even live in my house. She had represented to him that I was a physical threat to her but he quickly knew it was a property line issue that I had solved by presenting a new survey….blah blah blah…I had to hire a lawyer to represent me at the hearing for $500.00….The old hag blew up at the judge and eventually the bailiff escorted her out of the courtroom, case dismissed. My lawyer asked the judge to make me whole for the survey and legal costs, but that was denied….The legal system is truly corrupt…

  3. Damn Willy…thats a horrible story. The legal system is a disaster; look what happened to the J6 victims. As I recall, one guy was in the slammer for 3 1/2 years without a trial. Trump has so much stuff to fix and only 3+ years to do it.

  4. NYS committee on professional standards pulled the license of an attorney I had, for misconduct and I could never find an attorney in NYS who would go after him so I could get my retainer back. The legal system is not only crooked but it’s bent some 55 degrees.
