AOC asks Andrew Cuomo why ‘indoor schooling’ is allowed but indoor dining is not

WaEx: New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez questioned Gov. Andrew Cuomo over some inconsistencies in his coronavirus policies.

Ocasio-Cortez, a Democrat who worked in a New York City bar before being elected to Congress, demanded to know why Cuomo announced that schools in the state would be reopening for in-person instruction but restaurants and bars are still not allowed to provide indoor service to customers.

“If it’s not safe enough for indoor dining, what makes it safe enough for indoor schooling?” Ocasio-Cortez asked. “And restaurants actually have soap in the bathrooms.” more here

  1. …..Sounds like her feeble mind accidentally slipped back to a nano-second of reality.

I’m sure she will have to make reparations to the democrat party.

  2. I love the disclaimer: “Ocasio-Cortez, a Democrat who worked in a New York City bar before being elected to Congress…”.

Too much money/people going out and not enough coming in. Rand Paul wanted to redirect money to families if schools didn’t open. (I would call it a come to Jesus talk.)

  3. Someone needs to send a social worker to her home to perform a wellness check. I’d recommend a cop, but she wants to defund them.

  4. @Gladys — A fave songs thread sounds good to me, especially on a Saturday night, but we ought not to hijack an unrelated thread to do it. I just put a comment in the Bullpen endorsing your suggestion.

  5. “And restaurants actually have soap in the bathrooms.”

As opposed to schools where she and her classmates used to eat it.

  6. I’m so confused. Did she eat the soap while attending N.Y.C. schools?
It may explain a few things.

    Just sayin.

  7. Looking like the open/music/party thread isn’t going to happen. Good night all. Going to watch a BBC mystery on TV.

  8. His decisions are good, righteous, and lawful……

Because he’s Guido Cuomo and he’s the governor……

Guido works for himself…..not us peasants.

  9. No comment on this particular issue.

Just this observation: if she started flapping her flaming nostrils, I firmly believe she would take off and fly.

  10. flip,

I must be old because I’ve never heard of this group/song. I listened to it twice – I kinda like it! 😀

  11. Maybe she’s contemplating a teaching career when she ‘leaves’ politics?
Ah, hell, I’d rather see her become a career politician than subject kids to that.

  12. @ccnv a fellow named Jason Lytle is the central cog of the “band.” He composes everything from punk to classical… amazing songwriter and keyboardist. I first heard them circa 2004, I’m 62 now.

  13. Did anyone ever follow up on her discovery of garbage disposals? She probably could use some instruction on how to use them.

Step 1: Turn-on the cold water.

Step 2: Turn-on the disposal unit (wall switch).

Step 3: Insert your hand holding the food item into the disposal unit and let go. Some pain is normal when performing this step.

  14. New T-shirt ideas!
    This isn’t a Bar – It’s a peaceful protest.
    We’re not Dining In – It’s a peaceful protest.
This isn’t a Strip Club – It’s a clothing optional, equal opportunity, peaceful protest.
