AP is pearl clutching

AP Is Aghast That the GOP Would Use Biden’s Failures as a Political Weapon. Aghast!

PJM: The Associated Press is well known — and rightfully so — for writing long, detailed articles on “what it all means.” They’re called “thumbsuckers” in the news business, and the AP has perfected them.

A thumbsucker article presupposes that the reader is an ignorant rube and needs to be guided from Point A to Point B of a topic in order to have it explained to them. The problem for the reader is that the AP reporter writing the story — or most other mainstream reporters writing the story — almost always allows his or her own bias to permeate the story, making a “what it all means” story into a “what it should mean to you, you ignorant wretch.”

But the AP’s latest thumbsucker — “GOP’s new midterm attack: Blaming Biden for formula shortage” — makes a silly attempt to guide the reader to the conclusion that the Republican attack lines are politically motivated.

OMG! Really?

  1. They are what they are. They are also the product of decades of being rewarded for toeing the progressive line and spreading the progressive message and have no ability to reason. They have nowhere else to turn, they know nothing else. 12 years of primary indoctrination and they excelled in that and went on to four or six more years of learning how to manipulate morons.

  2. This line cracked me up: “The administration has sometimes been slow in responding …”
    “sometimes been slow..”?
    Ha ha ha ha ha!
Slow is Joe’s normal speed unless there’s a child to be fondled.

  3. President Elect Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH Neanderthal B Woodman Domestic Violent Extremist SuperStraight

I had to read through a bit to realize that the “AP” in this story didn’t mean “Armor Piercing”.

  4. The other tacked on line they like to use is “What you need to know”. More like what they want you to know.

  5. Always appreciate when a bunch of twenty seven year old know nothings condescend to explain how I am missing the story. Nothing inspires confidence in an institution like obvious political bias and serial lying.

  6. @Wild Bill

CNN also used that line, which irritates the heck out of me.

How patronizing to say: “Here is what you need to know”.

The media is right up there on top of my hate list, along with Liberals. They share top billing.
