Lee, 78, defeated Taylor, 47, thanks to late-arriving postal ballots, after Taylor led on Election Night. She will take the helm of a city suffering from poor left-wing governance in the wake of a corruption scandal involving former mayor Sheng Thao, also a “progressive.”

  1. Municipal election results should never be used to determine party strategy above that level. Hardly anyone votes in municipal elections. Those who do are usually family, friends and neighbors of the candidates, cronies and a few rabid radicals, so those votes are not a representative sample of registered or likely voters in presidential, or even mid-term elections.

That said, I wouldn’t be disappointed if the California Democrat Party reversed their shift to the center and doubled down on extreme leftist crazy.
