  1. It’s not easy being an only first kid in a fishbowl, especially with such a a negative media. Sometimes he’s seen smiling in groups with his sibs and cousins or in that mother’s day photo with Melania where he’s taking her picture.

  2. I’m 6’4″, but not even near the tallest in my extended family. We have some college basketball players. But one thing I’ve noticed is that “tall slouch”. Which young Barron is displaying in this photo. My 15-year-old son is growing like crazy. I told him to keep his spine straight up and look everyone in the eye when you shake their hand. and we went over several greetings too. I recently also did the same with my daughters.

  3. I’ve spent my life as a tall person among short people. It’s been observed that I try to make myself take up as little room as possible, which is and looks ridiculous. I’ve even developed a “small” mindset, where I convince myself I’m shorter than I am.

A month-long stay in Sweden did wonders, though! Finally, there was no one bumping into me, no one making weird remarks about my height, and everything was big enough for me to fit. To make eye contact, I often had to stand up very straight and tall, which most people were doing anyway. Suddenly, I felt healthier and calmer.

Since then, it’s been a long process of consciously untraining my habit of “squeezing in.” I remind myself to man-spread — not on the subway, but definitely at home or in the office. I’ve learned to acknowledge discomfort from trying to be “small,” which has meant getting a proper ergonomic chair, raising my computer monitor, and going to the gym and yoga so I can learn how my body’s meant to work.

To answer your question, OP, yes, I have slouched, and done a half-dozen other things that weirdly deny my size and lead to real discomfort. But this can be untrained.

  4. Barron is a good looking kid, without being a pretty boy. He’s got a unique face, an interesting mix of Slav and Scot.

Of course, he’ll be a babe magnet some day.
