Leverage. Nobody, from any political faction, is going to surrender it. They are liquidating those who can provide evidence and render that leverage useless.
Too, the leverage may not even be possessed by any faction that is part of this country.
This will cost Trump.
Again, the facts are being withheld from We, the People of the United States, for interests other than our own.
We should know the perverts in Congress, the Executive, the Judiciary, the Media, Academia, Hollyweird, &c., so they can be prosecuted and then executed.

This will not “cost Trump.”
Anyone with two brain cells to rub together knows that this was an IC blackmail operation. And also could have given Benz’s speculations, which say nothing. Moreover, it was led by U.S. intel, not foreign IC.
And moreover, there is no “list”. There’s a lot of stuff, including videos and tangible properties that can’t just be “uploaded” to the internet, are disorganized, and are incomplete. Bet on it that a lot has been trashed too. To the extent there are documents with names, contacts or emails or records of who was where when, these also may or may not implicate someone who is “guilty” of anything the general public is going to flip out about (as opposed to, e.g. wives).
I haven’t seen or heard of evidence that 8-year-olds were being held, tortured, or murdered.
More like embarassing crap, like men having sex with underage prostitutes. Okay that’s criminal, statutory rape in this and some other countries. Maybe drunken, drugged parties. And asshole behavior. That’s enough for blackmail. At least in the days before we had Congressional aides videoing their anal sex in the halls of the Senate.
But aside from the eeek eeeek constant refrains about “pedophilia” (it’s not; that’s propaganda to the ignorant; it’s mala prohibita, statutory rape to have sex with a fully physically-mature minor), and the titillation of the voyeuristic public whenever something involves sex, this wouldn’t be in the constant news.
(If Epstein’s blackmail program were limited to who cheated on compaign contributions, or embezzled from their companies, or committed insurance fraud, etc., it would be a big yawn.)
What about blackmailing the blackmailers?
Trump made the release a campaign promise. Now he realizes that he made a mistake. So, he is left with little choice but to come up with a reason (excuse?) and the person to explain it. Wa la: Mike Benz.
