  1. We bought avocados from Costco many months ago that were sprawith that shit. After 3 weeks on the counter they still hadn’t ripened. Several weeks later when they had finally ripened, they were disgusting and inedible. Now we investigate every grower before purchasing. Never a bad one since, and maybe Costco stopped. Avocados should easily ripen in a week. we use at least one a day so know. It wouldn’t shock me at all if this crap was allowed on organic produce. But EVERYONE should be able to know what’s on their produce.

  2. Here’s text from the oaffishul yoo-ess govt FDA notice:

Apeel Sciences describes the manufacturing process for monoglycerides, beginning with conversion (protection) of the two primary alcohol groups on the glycerol backbone to non-reactive moieties. Free fatty acids are then esterified selectively to the secondary alcohol using an acid catalyst in the presence of a solvent to generate the modified monoglycerides. Solvent is removed by distillation, and the mixture is purified by removal of unreacted starting materials and residual catalyst using a liquid-liquid separation. Any non-reactive moieties protecting the primary alcohols on the glycerol backbone are then chemically cleaved (deprotection) using a metal catalyst with hydrogen in the presence of a solvent. Subsequent filtration removes the metal catalyst and the resultant filtrate is crystalized and dried under vacuum to form the final product (1- and 2-monoglycerides). Apeel Sciences states that all processing agents and starting materials used in the manufacture of monoglycerides are food-grade chemicals used in accordance with current good manufacturing practices. Apeel Sciences provides specifications for monoglyceride (≥ 91%) and diglyceride (≤ 7%) levels as well as limits for ethyl acetate (≤ 100 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg)), acetonitrile (≤ 5 mg/kg), toluene (≤ 5 mg/kg), hexane (≤ 25 mg/kg), and individual heavy metals (including Lead (≤ 1 mg/kg), Palladium (≤ 3 mg/kg) and Arsenic (≤ 0.2 mg/kg)), in the finished product.

I just want to ask how fuckit-fuck is this shit OK to use on so-called ‘organic’ produce unless calling the produce ‘organic’ is a fuckity-fucking LIE?

I read some time ago that BIG FOOD has been buying up producers of organics and has sent their lobbyists forth to amend what things can be added to food without losing the organic certification.

  4. One of the things that got drummed into me in my working life was the importance of finding the root cause of a problem. Repeatedly throwing funds and efforts towards the results of a problem will not correct it. You must terminate the root cause.

Bill Gates is the root cause of a lot of problems.

  5. Nancy, now that you mention it, I have seen that, too.
    Crazy.

Long ago, when someone told me there were 12 levels of “organic,” I lost interest in any of it.

Also… You many have original, heritage seeds, but you definitely don’t have original dirt. lol

  6. I knew a guy who bought produce at a truck stop, relabeled it as organic and upped the price and sold the stuff at flea markets. Customers never questioned it.

  7. Cobra venom is 100% natural and organic.

This whole thing of “organic” produce is a farce.

Some farms really try. Some really cheat. They get the same lable.

If you didn’t have control of it from planting to harvest, you can’t know how its been treated.

There are big rewards for producers to lie. That alone should be all you need to know.

  8. For everyone wondering how Organic produce is allowed to have this poison on it … well, let me tell you.

I used to get Organic Gardening Magazine in the 70s. For years, they talked about certain pesticides and herbicides that were not allowed anywhere near organic gardens. Then, around mid 70s, things started to change. More and more toxins were allowed and still able to label the produce “Organic.”

By about ’78 or so, I cancelled my subscription because “Organic” was no longer organic. If it’s labeled “Organic”, it is only in order to charge more for it because people still believed it was better than normal poisoned produce.

Even now, you have to be careful if you plant your own garden … be sure the seeds are heirloom seeds. Though, I wouldn’t trust the large stores to get their seeds packets from liars who label them heirloom when they are not.

Ok, sorry for that rant, but I’m now buying my beef, pork, chicken, turkey, and some produce from local farmers who I know (most go to my church). I don’t trust anything from supermarkets and rarely shop for food there.

  9. There is no one more despicable than the creep who messes with other people’s food.

Gates is NO BETTER than the creep who pisses in the coffee pot that fellow employees use.

  10. “Organic” is just another scam like Globaloney Warming.
    All bullshit; All the time.
You can’t eat anything that isn’t organic (or, at least, digest anything).

There are two branches of Chemistry: Organic and Inorganic.

The word was stolen and perverted for profit.

And, yes, Gates is absolutely a fukkin creep.
