Boston City Councilor Tania Fernandes Anderson to resign after guilty plea.
Fernandes Anderson was arrested in December on charges that she ran a kickback scheme with a family member whom she employed in her City Hall office, using public funds to help with her own financial struggles. At the time, she pleaded not guilty.
I remember reading about this case back in December. What I don’t understand is how on earth a city councillor can request and get a massive bonus for a staff member? Is this from the magic money printer that the feds have and if so, why stop at $13,000? Why not $130,000 – wouldn’t that be nice?
I know it’s Boston, enough said. But somebody approved the bonus and released the funds. ?????

Just two weeks ago, some black kid goes to a track meet in a far Northern suburb of Dallas. For some reason, he packs a knife. For some reason, he sat under a tent belonging to another team, doing nothing but looking sullen and threatening. For some reason, he refused to leave when asked and dared anyone to touch him. When someone got fed up a gave his arm a tug to leave, he already had his hand on his knife, pulled it out, and stabbed a white kid in the heart, killing him instantly. When the cops came the vile N literally bragged about killing the other kid. It was clear the black kid came to start shit and kill a white kid, any white kid. Couldn’t have been more obvious.
Now, his “co-mu-nay-tay” has come out in his defense, made up a bullshit narrative, and all the white shitlibs are donating to his defense fund to the tune of $200k+. Fuck the “black co-mu-nay-tay”, fuck white shitlib dumbfucks, fuck GOP cucks who think they’re gonna “get the black vote”, and fuck our distant ancestors for not finding some other goddamn way to pick their cotton. …Respect, as in actual respect for your words and deeds, is EARNED. Not one person is worthy of “respect” until they have proven they are worthy of it, and no amount of Maoist struggle sessions or mostly peaceful protests will change that.
What an officeholder IS due in light of their title is “deference”. The office deserves to be deferred to and given a fair hearing just because of what it is, but deference is finite. Deference has to grow into respect or die, and only your words and deeds can grow it.
If deferring to you only gets hot air and waste, then the deferral goes away and you never get respect, because you proved yourself UNworthy.
A decent person will take the hint and resign.
A Communist will order people shot until everyone pretends respect.
But respect and fear are not the same, except to the extent your ability to have people shot is respected.

SNS: I would say respect is the default position, but it needs to be earned in order to stay in place. There are some people who are forever getting in tussles with others because they come off like jerks from the beginning.
