British Army veteran arrested for silently praying for his dead son near an abortion clinic

Blaze: A British Army veteran was confronted by police for standing silently near an abortion clinic in Bournemouth, England. The man’s apparent crime: He was silently praying for his murdered son.

Adam Smith-Connor of Southampton is the second Briton in recent months to have been arrested, not for speech or actions, but for silent prayer — for the thoughts in his head.

Smith-Connor told the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) UK, a faith-based freedom advocacy group, that “22 years ago, I drove an ex-girlfriend to a facility where I paid for her to have an abortion. Many years later, I came to realize what I had done and it has been a source of great grief to me in my life.”

“I now pray for my son and to God for forgiveness,” said Smith-Connor, adding, “I would never have imagined being in a position to risk a criminal record for praying silently.”

Smith-Connor approached a British Pregnancy Advisor Service abattoir in the English county of Dorset on Nov. 24 to pray “for my son Jacob, for other babies who have lost their lives to abortion, for their grieving families, and for abortion clinic staff.”

The BPAS is the leading provider of abortions in the United Kingdom and boasts on its website that one in three U.K. women will “have an abortion by the time they are 45 years old.” more

  1. The Limeys have implemented Thought Police?

If there are any humans left in England they should get out – NOW!

  2. Is it silently praying or silently Praying to “God” that the UK opposes?

The Freedom of Movement within the country/community, Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Thought are essential God Given Rights.

    Ezekiel 45:9
9 ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Enough, O princes of Israel! Remove violence and plundering, execute justice and righteousness, and stop dispossessing My people,” says the Lord God.

  3. I am making $92 an hour working from home. I never imagined that it was honest to goodness yet my closest companion is earning $16,000 a month by working on a laptop, that was truly astounding for me, she prescribed for me to attempt it simply. Everybody must try this job now by just using this site.. P𝐀Y𝐀TH𝐎𝐌E7.C𝐎M

  4. UK is now a mission field for Christians; the C of E has strayed far from the gospel, not that it was anywhere near it.

  5. How do they know if he was praying if it was a silent prayer? Can they read his mind? Are they lip readers like HAL in 2001? So many unanswered questions, it’s really none of the British governments (or any other govt. for that matter) business to know or assume what people may be thinking. And the abuse of the word abattoir for an govt. sponsored abortion clinic is totally appropriate since an abattoir refers to a slaughterhouse. Are we gonna have to now assume that any time we pray that Big brother will be watching and snooping on our every unspoken word offered in prayer to God. If it is, I may find myself in trouble because of all of my prayers to God and so may many others as well.

  6. Laws and procedure in the UK differ from USA. Possibly the law there would define an offense to be standing silently in sight of a protected facility which could cause a reasonable person to feel threatened. It’s not about prayer but presence.

I would like to see how the police would handle a Muslim in the same location. Or any non-white person for that matter.
