Canadian Wildfires Smoking Up the Joint

CBS News –

More than 25,000 residents in three provinces have been evacuated as dozens of wildfires remained active Sunday and diminished air quality in parts of Canada and the U.S., according to officials.

Roughly 17,000 residents in the Canadian province of Manitoba have been evacuated because of nearly two dozen active wildfires, officials said. More than 5,000 of those are from Flin Flon, where there is no rain in the immediate forecast.

There have been no structure fires in the city located nearly 400 miles northwest of the provincial capital of Winnipeg as of Sunday, but officials worry that a change in wind direction could bring the fire into town. More

  1. The Canadian Ministry of natural resources is full of dog fuckers that don’t let you harvest & sell trees or manage the forests but they sure drive some nice clean government trucks and suv’s full of ticket books.

  2. Different Tim, we are getting the same, but probably much less, here in Southwest Michigan.

Adding to all the other normal cloudy days here in Michigan, old Folderface Whitmer’s plan to pave all of Michigan with solar panels doesn’t seem too smart.

Well, she’s not too smart, so what else is new?

  3. @Different Tim, it was like that here in NW Wisconsin Friday morning. That upper layer smoke really cast a strange diffuse light on the ground. It was like a really bad thunderstorm was readying to break all hell loose but never came.

  4. What was the wildfire situation during the 70’s and 80’s?
I’m assuming that the forests were managed differently then – or I’m too young to remember?

Wildfires happen but now it’s a “season”?!?

  5. Canada, like the U.S. during O’Biden’s reign, was flooded with illegal alien Chinese Nationals. And they all have matches. We are in a war, but won’t admit it.
