The Center for Biological Diversity sued the Trump administration on Thursday for slow-walking Endangered Species Act protections for the Crater Lake newt.
Living only in Oregon’s Crater Lake, the deepest lake in the U.S. and part of a National Park, the newt’s population has been decimated in recent years, thanks largely to the introduction of the signal crayfish. A 2024 scientific survey found only 13 newts, indicating a rapid slide toward extinction. More
Suggested remedy:
crayfishcrawfish étouffée. Very tasty, too!It may be ‘crayfish’ up north, but it’s ‘crawfish’ where étouffée comes from.
Wasn’t that report completed when Biden was still President (and would be for another two months), but it is Trump’s fault?
And they know there are only about 13 left? Do they report in every day?
What’s the problem? According to Godless evolutionists, its survival of the fittest. 99% of all animals that have ever existed are extinct now.
These newts are biological slackers.
Ah hah! It’s not only the cray fish, but rainbow trout!

Solution: breed the bloody newt and restock the lake! Everything wins (especially, the trout).
I hate enviro-weenies. They can’t see past their nose.
I recently read that there were only a few T Rex remaining. But that was in a 60 million year old newspaper I found in my doctor’s office.
Yea so?
It’s the whole damnable Trump family

And why were the crayfish introduced to begin with? An environmentalist’s solution to another “problem?”
Maybe a witch was involved, and she turned him into a newt.

Gee Wally, ya think maybe they stopped counting at 13?
Ok, is it just me or would it seem possible that these enviro-weenies simply ginned up some “stats” to get a grant? I mean I know that’s NEVER happened before, but how do we know the accuracy of this information?
I dunno, but it fits the mold!
Everything was fine until smart people pushed Mother Nature aside.
Those 13 newts stand a better chance of survival than an abortion-crazed lunatic.

I heard that he got better.
@Uncle Al
Oh well. Make Crater Lake Newt étouffé out of the last 13 of them. I’ll try to not get too teary-eyed over their demise.
Crater Lake must be full of rainbow trout.

BAM! 13″.
Breakfast.
The sooner they are gone the sooner normalcy can be restored. Does anybody believe that the 13 remaining newts are making an ecological impact.
Maybe we should make a list of people who should be turned into newts.
Fucking idiots. Everybody is lying. Not saying that no one fishes in Crater Lake, but that is one heck of a hike down to the shore line to fish. Anyone who has seen or visited Crater Lake knows what I am talking about. It is just impractical to go and leisure fish there. Ha Ha Ha!!!
Dr. Jill and her crones told them to save the newts, needs their eyeballs for the caldron.
