According to a recent report by John Burns Research and Consulting, which produces independent research on the U.S. housing market, Trump’s and Musk’s efforts to reduce the federal workforce might create new challenges for the already struggling U.S. housing market, “especially in the Washington, D.C., region, where federal employment comprises approximately 375,000 jobs in the workforce.”
Other states—including California, Texas and Florida, which are also home to large federal workforces—”may also experience market strain,” researchers at the company warned. More

Good!
I just read the median home price has dropped 139K. In the last 30 days there has been 4,000 new listings. Maybe the should learn to code.
These people who believe USAID is only doing good in the world need to watch Mike Benz being interviewed on Joe Rogan or Tucker’s podcast. Either they’re lying operatives or they’re so naive they’re useful idiots.
Soon they’ll be moving into our neighborhoods. Yipee.
They used to say about New York is that if you can make it there, you’ll make it anywhere.
These congressmen and Senators that leave DC (alive) all have acquired staggering amounts of wealth and multi-miliion dollar homes that they put New Yorkers to shame!
PS – and with the crack-downs going on there will naturally be an associated trim-down in real estate as well! No more 2mil starter homes for the newly initiated!
Real Estate is not the only thing currently impacted in DC. There’s a shortage of criminal defense attorneys. Google searches are up 500%.

An expensive area for real estate.
What surprised me when I visited the area was that you don’t have to go far from DC proper and you’ll find yourself in the projects.
Apparently only inflated government salaries or welfare with subsidized government housing are the only people who can afford to live there.
I am over 70, and gone thru termination, company buy outs and lay offs in addition to down sizing. I have had to adapt to changes. Welcome to the real world. Adapt.
I wonder how many grifter bureaucrats now find that their NoVa or Monkey County homes are under water. Lots of ’em, I hope.
Yes, Rasmussen last week reported that over the past week there were 3-4 times as many google searches for criminal defense attys in D.C. as for the rest of the country. Another popular search was: What is the definition of treason?
Having taken my financial bath on ’07, I am fresh out of gives a f* for the inhabitants along the Potomac.
Heard there is an increasing number of produce harvesting jobs.
It’s about time for these assholes to start feeling the same kind of pain that they been dealing out to taxpayers for the last 30 years.
Hal Turner reports 14,285 new listings in the past week. Average price down 36%. Lot of blue tears.
I hear there’s lots of “temporary” housing near the border that’s suddenly become available for occupancy! 🙂
It will be real when Barky has to sell his Kalorama Kastle at a loss and moves out of DC permanently. Although he’ll probably sleep on the couch in his taxpayer-funded office at the World Wildlife Fund HQ building. I wonder what kind of USAID grift they’ve got going.
“Real Estate is not the only thing currently impacted in DC.”
True. There’s also a sudden interest in Bleachbit. And I wouldn’t be surprised to hear about a run on hammers at DC Home Depots. Going out the door by the bagful.
^^^ as opposed to the run on hammers in San Fransisco???
