Disgraced, defrocked, and degenerate former Cardinal McCarrick has reportedly died at age 94. Now he has to face the judgment of his Maker.
Catholic show host Raymond Arroyo reported the news, “Good night and good luck. Disgraced former Cardinal Theodore McCarrick is dead at 94. May God give comfort to his victims — and have mercy on his soul.” Arroyo expressed the feelings of many of us faithful American Catholics when he added, “McCarrick was a disgrace — a horrendous deceiver and predator who was allowed to terrorize so many for far too long.” McCarrick was also one of those responsible for the shameful Vatican-China deal so catastrophic for persecuted Chinese Catholics.
Theodore McCarrick has for several years been the face of the Catholic Church’s sex abuse crisis in many Americans’ minds, as some clerics are accused of covering up his sexual abuse of minors for decades. In 2018, Carlo Maria Viganò, former apostolic nuncio to the United States, testified that McCarrick and now-Pope Francis had known each other a long time, that Francis knew full well what horrific crimes McCarrick had committed, and yet brought him out of the semi-retirement Pope Benedict XVI put him in and entrusted him with helping broker the Vatican-Chinese Communist Party deal (read the testimony from Viganò).
While McCarrick was finally laicized by Francis, Viganò became the target of Francis’s full wrath, lending credibility to the accusation that Francis was previously covering up for McCarrick. Viganò continues to accuse Francis of covering up sexual abuse. Unfortunately, we are likely never to know for sure now, as McCarrick’s case will never be properly tried in court.

That was a succinct yet charitable comment from Raymond Arroyo. Well done. If restraint is a virtue, Arroyo should be beatified.
McCarrick’s time here may be over but he has made a lasting impact: destroying the lives of his victims, casting doubt on the integrity of all who ever worked with or for him, and influencing the make up of the next conclave and thus the next Pope. McCarrick lobbied for his friend Bergoglio to make Pope in 2013, after which his career was revitalized. The Vatican swamp is older and murkier than any in Washington.

Spokane had a Catholic bishop about 20 + years ago who turned out to be a closet homosexual and was removed from his office after he got caught engaged in a homosexual act in a public bathroom at a major airport. The bishop before him was an old school honorable Catholic who retired because of his old age, and they replaced him with this turkey. My wife and I since she was an ex catholic once went to a midnight Christmas mass at Our Lady of Lourdes in downtown Spokane with the gay bishop who we didn’t know was gay at the time. I always laughed at Garrison Keillor’s description of the Catholic church in Lake Wobegon on A Prairie Home Companion as Our Lady of Perpetual Responsibility.

They have no shame, they have no remorse. They are infiltrators who are as smug as they are a walking, talking scandal and disgrace to humanity. Any apologies they utter are pure unadulterated horse shit and are designed to add insult to injury.
The Catholic Church seems to be having a resurgence. I know multiple people becoming Catholic. I just cannot understand it. Aside from declaring the pope, this pope in particular, “infallible,” why isn’t the rabid pedophilia a deal breaker for Christ followers?

For a recent amount of time I’ve found many of the threads to be troublesome in that they’re less than positive in content. Weak sister that I am I sometimes buy into the negativity.
