Ecuador Will Imminently Withdraw Asylum for Julian Assange and Hand Him Over to the UK

The Intercept: Ecuador’s President Lenin Moreno traveled to London on Friday for the ostensible purpose of speaking at the 2018 Global Disabilities Summit (Moreno has been using a wheelchair since being shot in a 1998 robbery attempt). The concealed, actual purpose of the President’s trip is to meet with British officials to finalize an agreement under which Ecuador will withdraw its asylum protection of Julian Assange, in place since 2012, eject him from the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, and then hand over the WikiLeaks founder to British authorities.

Moreno’s itinerary also notably includes a trip to Madrid, where he will meet with Spanish officials still seething over Assange’s denunciation of human rights abuses perpetrated by Spain’s central government against protesters marching for Catalonia independence. Almost three months ago, Ecuador blocked Assange from accessing the internet, and Assange has not been able to communicate with the outside world ever since. The primary factor in Ecuador’s decision to silence him was Spanish anger over Assange’s tweets about Catalonia.  more

One of the many reasons I’ve written off Q. How many times did we hear Assange was pulled out and living free and easy in the USA? I”m thinking at least three.
I have no idea how much this guy actually helped Trump. He’s not helping Trump if it’s old news. Should Trump save his ass? Yes I think so.

  2. Anyone who is hated by govt heavies as much as Assange is hated has to be doing some good. Trump and especially Pompeo are no fans of Assange and WikiLeaks, so I fear JA’s future looks pretty grim. I would have it otherwise.

“Trump and especially Pompeo are no fans of Assange and WikiLeaks, ”

True, but if this admin thinks he has a scintilla of truth, they will do the logical thing.

  4. To my way of thinking, if Assange hadn’t leaked the details of the DNC hacking, Hillary and company’s scheming might not have been discovered and she could have received a lot more votes. Assange may have gotten Trump elected. Even if not, he certainly helped him a lot.

In any event, Wikileaks is going to remain a powerful force. Why not save Assange and get them on our side?

Bottom line: Can’t hurt, might help.

Wikileaks makes it public, that doesn’t mean it wasn’t known. However I agree, he’d be a much better asset than a political prisoner.

    > Why not save Assange and get them on our side?

Because Britain (along with the four other eyes) are the greatest enemies of the American people. (ISIS really was JV.) Just because Hillary wasn’t appointed Prime Minister, doesn’t mean the boxcars stop running on time.

  7. Since Assange was silenced Wikileaks has been compromised. They can no longer be trusted.

  8. Did Trump speak out for Tommy? I don’t recall if he did but if not, I do not see him speaking out on Assange’s behalf. That would bring down a real global political crapstorm and a new round of media mythmaking. But he’s surprised me before.

  9. Assange, like his parents, is a Marxist and his goal is bring down the USA. With that in mind, he has a pipeline to the SVD (KGB successor). That’s why he sought shelter with the Marxist Ecuadorian gov.

Assange’s goal wasn’t to help Trump, it was to hurt the USA. It just happened that Hillary was the America’s heir apparent in 2015/6. Trump publicly campaigned dirty (or as tough guy) but ran a clean campaign organization. Hillary and the DNC were dirty through and through. If the situation was reversed, we’d have President Hillary and Trump in prison.

So F Assange. I look forward to learning of the creative charges the corrupt British justice system can conjure and how deep London Tower goes. The enemy of my enemy isn’t necessarily my friend.

  11. Assange has made enemy’s all around but I see him as somewhat of an asset against governments. is he an ass ? Sure he is but sometimes we need to have a source truth just like flashing your headlamps driving down last the speed trap.

I don’t think they did anything to help the US, they were trying to disrupt the election. I also don’t think they were counting on DJT victory.

  13. Assange particularly hated 0bama and hillary because they wanted him under the jail even before the election process began.

During the elections, Wikileaks got those emails from someone at the DNC, Someone on hillary’s and 0bama’s teams. It was too easy.

Too bad a lot of hillary’s are still missing/destroyed.
