El Chapo says officials ‘on both sides of the border’ control the drug trade

JTN: Incarcerated Mexican drug lord Joaquin Guzmán, aka “El Chapo,” said that to end the drug war, authorities would need to pursue Mexican and American politicians alike.

Guzmán, speaking through his attorney, insisted that his arrest and the continued arrests of individuals like him would not stop the drug trade. Instead, he asserted, authorities should address the politicians and officials turning a blind eye to or cooperating with the cartels.

“For years, authorities have put away these alleged leaders but it is not serving any purpose, but if you go after politicians that are allowing this to happen, it’s a different thing,” attorney Mariel Colón told Insider, per ADN America. Officials on “both sides of the border” are complicit in the continuing trade, he added. more

  1. Leftists like to complain about how big businesses prey on people. What they don’t realize is that nobody — not big business, not drug cartels — would be able to do the things they do without the political class getting their cut. As long as the Big Guy gets his 10%, nothing will change.

  3. The cash from the retail operation here is handled by banks you see on your credit cards. Pallets of it weekly. They report this as possibly nefarious cash to the feds, the feds say ” Thanks”, and the cash gets laundered. The feds are quite upfront about admitting this.

  4. Got that right. Think US federal agencies, politicians such as Kickback Kathy Hochul, Charles Schumer, Biden Family, Clinton Family, Pelosi, Bush Family, Cheney Family, Maxine Watersm. Kohn Fetterman, Doj, and numerous others. Smugglers need “approval” from pols to operate in the US.
