Elon Musk says brain implant could one day give humans telepathy, cure paralysis

Just The News: Billionaire investor and tech luminary Elon Musk this week demonstrated technology he said could one day give human beings the ability to practice telepathy and even overcome chronic conditions like paralysis.

Musk on Friday presented a device that he said was like “a Fitbit in your skull,” developed by the company Neuralink, which Musk co-founded in 2016.

In the demonstration, which was broadcast online, Musk presented the brain chip as a technology that could, among other things, “save and replay memories,” cure blindness and even give people “superhuman vision.”  more here

  1. I nominate bill and melinda gates as the first test subjects. Since they seem so anxious to test their vaccines on us, let’s see them show us how civic minded they are.

  2. I actually read one report that claimed that implanting the devise was a simple procedure, only took a few minutes and in many cases wouldn’t require ANESTHETIC.
The implant is installed by removing a small circle of scull bone.
    OK you first!

  3. I would like one that can solve math problems of every type. Plus, it should have a huge, persistent scratch pad memory that works with my visual cortex. AND! It should be able to dump solutions and graphics to my computer.

I guess I just want a better brain, not that this one didn’t work fairly well over the years.

  4. I admire innovative men of vision that think outside the box. Knowledge always moves forward and God intended it that way, to be curious, hungry, to better oneself and the community.

Artificial intelligence, gene editing, DNA sequencing, genetically modified foods for better yield, insect resistance, and shelf life, we live in exciting times.

The very thought that the world’s basket of knowledge could be accessed by everyone with a mouse click and an internet connection, remarkable. And only in USA could most of this happen.

  5. I just had the procedure done a week ago. Other than donating my life savings to the Southern Poverty Law Center I haven’t experienced any side effects. I’ll give it a thumbs up!
