Fired Insubordinate Officers Reveal Massive U.S. Military Resentment Against Elected Civilian Command

Federalist-

There is a cancer in America’s military ranks, and it must be expunged before it’s too late. That cancer lies in uniformed service members’ widespread rejection of the uniquely American concept of civilian control of the military and disregard for the absolute necessity that America’s military officers remain apolitical in the face of the constitutional will of the electorate.

Recent events reveal this cancer, and they include the relief for cause of Navy Vice Adm. Shoshana Chatfield after she reportedly refused to hang photos of President Donald Trump and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth on her headquarters’ customary “Chain of Command” board and reportedly told her subordinates in a town hall that she would “wait [the Trump administration] out” the next four years. They also include the relief for cause of Col. Sussanah Meyers, commander of the U.S. Space Force’s base in Greenland, after she openly questioned (to all of her subordinates via email) Vice President J.D. Vance’s official pronouncements regarding the United States, Greenland, and Denmark.

Since Trump’s inauguration, numerous other senior generals and admirals have been relieved by President Trump for various publicly unspecified reasons, including the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Air Force Gen. Charles “CQ” BrownChief of Naval Operations Adm. Lisa FranchettiAdm. Linda Lee Fagan, the commandant of the Coast Guard; and Air Force Gen. Timothy D. Haugh, director of the National Security Agency and commander of U.S. Cyber Command. Each of these four-star firings is publicly shrouded in a certain degree of mystery, but rumors abound that so-called diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) played a part in one way or another. MORE

  1. I am amazed, (but probably shouldn’t be), by the profound stupidity of field grade and general officers who didn’t understand the sea change when Hegseth was appointed SecDef; a Warrior-Officer who demands warfighters and who will not put up with insubordinate DEI officers.

  2. Back during the Obama administration Any 0-5 who did not lean left was passed over for war college which basically ended their carrier. The O-3’s who did not lean left were harassed, given shit assignments, and encouraged to get out.

Most of the officers and senior NCO’s need to be canned. Our military has a left wing cancer. They are not capable of true military leadership.

  3. I see that four of the six were women. DEI, most definitely.

Not that I’m against women serving in the military (I wanted to join the Air Force, but my medical history kept me out), but they must have the right attitude and personality (not leftists).

  4. Chatfield and Meyers are hard core dumb cunts. They are living proof that DEI is promoting fucking morons into key jobs based entirely on plumbing or skin tone. If you don’t grasp the concept of “salute the rank; not the man” then you have zero business being in the military at any rank.

Such open and indiscrete disregard for the POTUS, VPOTUS, and SecDef along should result in a dishonorable discharge at least.

The Pentagon’s “Political” Perfumed Princes (Admiral and Generals) and their Staffs are selected by the Good Ol’ Boys Club in the Political Military Culture, as well as, Partisan Political influence.
The cancer has spread beyond the Generals, well into the Colonel and Lt. Colonel Ranks.
Many civilian Personnel in DOD is a retirement farm of Retired enlisted and officers, this cancer is sucking up needed resources and money on every Military base, These funds should be directed to train and properly Pay Our Officer and Enlisted WARRIOR CLASS who are the tip of the sword in our Military.

Combat Leaders should make up the “new” Military Lethal structure from Senior NCOs, Majors, Colonels and Generals. If Officers do not add to the discipline, exceptional training to develop greater lethality of our Military Forces they should be ousted.
No more pencil pushers and ass kissers.

The enlisted ranks should have exceptional skills and intense training, similar to Marine Recon, Army Rangers and some specialized skills of our Special Forces.
No more Marines and Army personnel relegated to become Barracks Bums. Every enlisted personnel must be motivated, trained, cross trained and possess the skills to be the best lethal force in the world.

I could give a shit who has the best Band, Chorus, Drill Team, Drum and Bugle team, UNLESS they also have the same lethal training and skills demanded in a War Theater.

  6. Claudia — Agreed! The only mission while serving in the armed forces is to kill the enemy and protect the Constitutional bedrock of the U.S., and our citizens. An oath is taken with with your right hand raised — voluntarily. To take that oath with any other mission in mind is treason.

Those commanders should be tried and prosecuted to the full extent of the UCMJ. Period.

  7. This scary reality started in our military academies. So, start the gutting there!

Remember that West Point senior who wore the Che Guevara tee shirt under his dress uniform? Yeah, he got booted for that. Do more of that!

  8. When I served in the Strategic Air Command, officers like this simply did not exist. Imagine an officer failing to follow an order from POTUS to launch a retaliatory nuclear strike upon our attacking enemy.

  9. The name of the cancer is “Marxism”. It has metastasized to all aspects of Western society. That includes the US military. Decades of socialist indoctrination in the educational system produced communist operatives. They’re willing to sabotage every established institution that represent the liberties and freedoms of the US Constitution.

  10. “Imagine an officer failing to follow an order from POTUS”

No imagination necessary, we saw it first hand with that fat POS Mark Milley.

I’m reading the academic credentialing of Chatfield, these are the exact degrees we do NOT want for our military leaders. Aside from a business degree, which can he useful in managing subordinates, refining organizational skills, and prioritizing goals and missions, a college degree can be an impediment. The best generals were born natural leaders, are personable with adequate people skills, are charismatic (eliciting a desire to follow) and have the proper temperament (cool and calm under fire, measured in all actions), the qualities necessary to be a good cop.
