  1. SORRY, but using GOVERNMENT to artificially effect rates CAUSES INFLATION ULTIMATELY.
It prevents people who overspent from dropping their PRICES by allowing new buyers to finance bigger principal offset by lower payments.

    BUT WE ALL KNOW THAT!

  2. Yeah, what they really need to do is get all the way out of any federal involvement, in mortgages or in anything.
The gov’t is ALWAYS the referee. That’s basically the role we give it, protecting us with military and with a legal system. But when it is a player as well as a ref, then it will always act in its own favor and against the other guy, whomever that may be. And the other guy is us, he’s the free market.
Get gov’t all the way out of business. Then it can be impartial. Never perfectly, but better than if it’s also playing the game.

  3. Us too , Brad. I just don’t see an obvious place to go. I don’t like it too hot, I’ve spent enough time in freezing cold, so that’s out. Fresh water is a plus, salt water for seafood is good too. Tough choices.

  4. Brad, That would address a lot of my issues! In fact, the only thing it would lack is that I’d have learn something about fishing tropical fish. I could damn sure give it a try.

  5. How about off the Big Island? It’s not quite as crowded, at least it didn’t used to be. The water in between The Big Island and Maui is fairly productive, at least that’s what I remember. Waimea, on the Big Island is a near perfect climate. The homes even have fireplaces for when the temperature drops to 60 or so.
