There’s a gaping hole in Google’s pursuit to invade every aspect of your life- television.
But the gubmint is here to help them.
Consider this new FCC proposal to mandate rules for set-top boxes in your home. Even though you have never had so many options and choices for video, the FCC wants to require you to add a second box inside your home. Why? To help Google distribute television.
Why does Google deserve an FCC handout to get into the TV business — especially when every other company competing in this space has managed to do so without an FCC leg up?
Follow the money.
What does a world in which Google controls television look like? Most people now understand that “free” Google products actually bring a very high price as Google profiles and mines our data across its many platforms — tracking our location through Android phones, reading our e-mail, compiling our Internet searches and cataloging every Web site we visit, building profiles on each of us that would rival the NSA.
Consider a recent Atlantic Monthly article on Google cars, which wonders if automobile operating systems will start manipulating our lives, steering us toward Google’s allied products and paid sponsors and setting routes based on “suggested results” mined by the Google algorithm from the contents of our e-mails and Web searches.
The govt wants access to all that sweet intel Google has on all of us, while Google wants a monopoly on all info out there. So it’s a win-win situation!!!! (Except for the millions of freedom loving Americans, but there has to be some collateral damage…)

What was that whole “nudge” thing they talked about a few years ago where the intent was to gently push the masses toward certain elite desired outcomes at the social and government levels?

The government wouldn’t “require” everyone to have a Google TV-Box like ObamaCare, would they? That’s crazy. 🙄
They’re trying to replace the meters on my 16-year old home. They come by every month, I get letters in the mail. I know what they’re after. F’m I like my electric and water, I’m not going to let them hold it against me. I pay for it, it is none of the government’s damn business what I use and pay for.

Put your tv in the nearest dumpster, or use it as a monitor. Cancel cable, dish, or any other tv provider. Life without tv is really great.
