I mentioned gators to a friend, since I live in an apartment complex on a tidal creek. There are some ponds which have resident gators. Of course they came up the creek, but my friend said that since the water is brackish they don’t live in it although they may be around. Another friend said something about avoiding mating season which is May.
Now crocs, if I thought there were crocs around I might behave very differently!

Was on Daufuskie Is. for my sons wedding.
Wife and I took a walk with some of her relatives. There was a pond and you could see a gator on the other side.
Wife’s sister, from CA, said she wished it was closer so she could see better.
Told her I would call it over, she thought I was pulling her leg, until it started over.
When it got about 10 yards away she said that’s close enough and ran down the road.
Been in the Low Country all my life, I got gator stories.
