RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. (NewsNation) — NewsNation cameras were the only ones on the ground as a massive surge of law enforcement gathered in Southern California to dismantle three massive illegal marijuana grow operations on federal land, with one of them stretching more than 250 acres.
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration says the grow operations are located on federal land and not controlled, as they’re operating outside of the law despite the drug’s legality in California. As with many illegal grow operations, employing those with undocumented U.S. legal status is also rampant. more here
So now the legal Pot Shops can now double their prices again.
I remember a story where some illegal pot was gathered and burned to destroy it. The smoke settled on the local town and everyone got high.

It’s like one of the last scenes from the English comedy Saving Grace where the whole town gets stoned when they burn all the confiscated marijuana. Cops included and Doc Martin as well.
@geoff – also, The Beach Girls (1982) 🙂
That might help California increase tax revenues.
There was NO END TO PROHIBITION in CA. They simply transferred monopoly control to the government, while imposing such ridiculous taxation and regulation that the black market never went away. Freedom works…if allowed to.
Legal weed costs twice as much as black market weed in California because of taxes and licensing, that’s the problem.

Cheech and Chong hardest hit
I’m certain this comment will not go over well for some (many?).
Frankly, what actual good has legalizing pot done for our society? Okay, reduce the charges for possession and use, but it never should have been legalized in my opinion.
Medicinal use? Fine, but there are lots of ways to make use of its medicinal properties without making it attractive for recreational use.
That’s all I gotta say about that.
….except that every acquaintance of mine who uses pot on a regular basis — especially, it seems, older women — are more high-strung, anxious, and given to unexpected bursts of rage, despite touting it as needed to reduce their anxiety.
Like they used to say in the olden days of the hippies smoking dope makes you a dope.
