It’s true. At least it is for Thomas English Muffins. I never manipulated them like that, I just kind of grabbed each half and peeled them apart.
I blame feminism for keeping you ladies away from each other so you could not share this knowledge.
Don’t care for English muffins I am a biscuit guy all the way (especially with sausage gravy!)
Can’t put sausage gravy or chipped beef on muffins!
It always cost me dinner and maybe some roses to get a muffin to open that reliably….

Thomas’ English Muffins factory is about 40 minutes from my house.

Some brands better than others.
Speaking of English muffins, Gia’s Bakery, used to make cheese English muffins. I loved them. Franz’ Bakery bought them and still produces the French rolls that Hoagy’s Corner used to use, and a few other of the Gia’s Bakery favorites, but most are long gone.

You ain’t seen nothing until you go down a muffin. And the 40 years later you get throat cancer. Just sayen some things are not meant to be licked. Been there, done that.

Figured this out by accident years ago. Started cutting into an English Muffin and it started splitting in equal halves without any effort. Such a clever feature.
Or, you could save yourself the trouble and just buy Bays brand muffins. They’re fully sliced. Most stores have them. I get mine at Walmart.
I invented the English Muffin.
And butter.
Kman – I was just thinking the same thing. Thomas’ are top notch, but Bays is just as good and already split. I also like the panel that opens and re-seals.
Dadof4 – The two things I do like from McDonals: Coffee and their sausage biscuit. No egg or cheese, just the sausage patty and the biscuit.
There is so much wrong with this that I don’t even know where to start.
I prefer English strumpets.
