If I was looking to buy a watch it would be a Wasson!

Even though I always have my phone with me, us old guys still like wrist watches. Looks to be a rock solid company.

That is a good looking watch. I’ve worn a beat up old Submariner I bought new ~thirty years ago most of the time. The only time I haven’t is when I used to visit San Francisco, Portland, Seattle or Vancouver. I’ve got other decent watches that aren’t really recognizable.

Egard https://www.egardwatches.com is also worth considering. They did a great slap-down/rebuttal to Gillette’s toxic masculinity commercial a few years ago.

I thought he’d be more of a “Takes a licking and keeps on ticking” type of guy.

An interesting new (?) genre: product ad as an indusputably explicit political statement.
I can’t decide whether it would be helpful to have the political stances of companies be that overt–to aid in responsible product purchasing–or if it would cause a non-avoidable political OD (ads being everywhere).
I think I’m tending toward the latter.

I’ve got a Citizen Eco Drive that I just recently bought. I had another one that I got as a service award, wore it to work every day and it lasted over twenty years without a battery or any other servicing. Kept perfect time. I have my dads Rolex, but I don’t want to wear a $4000 watch around.

Over the years I’ve bough a lot of inexpensive watches. Not junk, just not real expensive watches. I’m more of a Timex guy, but also Casio, Seiko, Skagen, Bulova, etc, mainly for how they look and of course they all keep good time.
The Wasson is at the upper end of what I’d put on my wrist, but looking at the specs the that Field automatic watch is impressive. It has more reserve time than my Bulova and cosmetically I like the bold, easy to read face. The illumination looks good too. It strikes me as a good traditional watch that will keep on working well past Judgment Day and time-traveling terminators!

Which guy is wearing it?
I would prefer it if they sued him for brand damage.
