Iran is considering closing the key oil shipping route Strait of Hormuz after the US bombed three of its nuclear facilities, Iranian media reported today.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical chokepoints, through which a fifth of global oil and gas supply flows.
It connects the Persian Gulf to the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean. The narrow channel, approximately 33 km wide at the narrowest point, separates Iran (north) from the Arabian Peninsula (south).
But shipping lanes in the waterway are even narrower – 3 km wide in each direction, making them vulnerable to attacks and threats of being shut down, which Iran has decided to do now.
SNIP: I can’t find the chart that I saw, but it showed that the US only uses 5% while China uses 50% of that oil.
Like I say. We own the sky. It will be a shooting gallery.

With the US being able(at present) to produce their own oil, this is like threatening to throw Brer Rabbit into the briar patch. If the Dims regain control then all bets are off.
We’ve done it before and can do it again. Escort the oil tankers to Kuwait and out with our combat ships.
In April 1988, we sank the Iranian navy after one of our ships was almost lost after hitting an Iranian mine.
That was Operation Praying Mantis, under the great President Reagan, last major sea battle in history.
After that, pretty smooth sailing since there wasn’t much of an Iranian navy left to harass shipping.
I was in that battle, and I am NOT Brian Williams.
If you don’t grow your own, you must diversify.
That’s why China is a little freaked out by now. Iran is Xi’s bestie. Or was.
This is why Egypt grows its own wheat and buys (supplement) from others in case of crop failures, war, etc. They learned that in the Bible days.
Honest question, wouldn’t that hurt Iran more than anyone else?
Thanks, Fritz. 💕
BevWKy – You’d think, huh?
Not only are they not selling their oil, but they’re pissing off Arabia, Oman, UAE, Kuwait, and whoever else that uses the strait.
If anyone has the Ayatollah’s email, pls forward this link as a refresher:

It would suck to be Europe and Japan. North America not so much, though Canada and Mexico will try to extract trade conditions to keep access to their oil.
I imagine India and China will receive free passage from the Ayatollah in exchange for more missiles and rocket fuel.
For anyone who wants to build their knowledge of the current debate and prepare for the Democrat firestorm against Trump’s actions in Iran, I leave this for your consideration:

The shipping lanes through the Strait of Hormuz are two miles wide by 90 miles long. A postage stamp. A very small foot print that’s heavily surveilled. If we choose to keep it open it could easily be done from the air. Putting our ships in such a confined area is stupid. Although if we only get 5% of our oil from there why bother. Let all talk and no action China keep it open.
“Plans to close”…”considering closing”…”decided to close”…IOW, Iran won’t be closing the straits of Hormuz. And it will continue closing various establishments in Israel. But at least Iran’s nukes are all gone…right?
Indian shit-stirring and journolisming aside, the “spectacular” attack balloon continues to gently deflate, as the letdowns and walk-backs are gradually released into the news cycle:
“The US gave Iran advance notice before launching strikes on three of its nuclear facilities, according to a report on Sunday, in what appears to have been a calculated move to avoid full-scale war.
Speaking to the London-based outlet Amwaj Media on condition of anonymity, a high-ranking Iranian official said the Trump administration informed Tehran that it did not seek an all-out confrontation and would only launch a ‘one-off’ strike on the Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan nuclear sites.
US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth appeared to partially confirm this later on Sunday, when he said that the US “does not seek war” with Iran in the aftermath of the surprise overnight attack overnight.
“This mission was not and has not been about regime change,” Hegseth added.”

Of course, that could be Arab cope journolisming, and the Pentagon could be lying its ass off about a “one-off”, so keep hope alive!
Regieme change – there’s nothing left to lose anymore. Who could be worse than these scummy mullahs?
Guess they forgot about the B2’s and tomahawks already. Stupid fuckers.
According to the people watching the strait, nobody gives a crap, ships are still moving. lol
It’s a pretty big strait, 21 miles across at the most narrow crossing. Lots of water to cover. Suicide for Iran to try to block it for many reasons, and illegal internationally.
Iran is full of shit.
Believe it when you see it.
Wouldn’t be the first time the insane mullahs attempted to close the Strait. Never worked out well for them in the past.
