Is NY Attorney General Letitia James a Slumlord in Her Own Building? Tenants Say Yes

RPW: NY AGT Letitia James is in more trouble after the tenants accuse her of being a slumlord. They say she does nothing about bedbug infestation, peeling paint, using an apartment illegally, and more. They have lodged 17 complaints in the last 20 months with the New York City Department of Buildings.

These include unauthorized construction work without proper permits, the alteration of a load-bearing wall without permits, the illegal use of apartments as hotel rooms, illegal conversion, a fence over the height limit, and a failure to notify authorities of scaffold work. In addition, all four tenants report problems with bedbugs. more

  1. “James, in fact, has consistently positioned herself as a defender of the city’s most vulnerable residents. Her public statements often stress that no one is above the law and that those who exploit or endanger tenants should be held accountable.”

I’m sure it has been over a decade since I first posted here that progressives are particularly talented and almost exclusively interested in identifying “vulnerable” individuals and populations, gaining their confidence and subsequently exploiting them to advance their own interests or enrich themselves. That and projecting their own predatory behavior onto other totally innocent parties.

They are malevolent sonsabitches who have absolutely no interest in or capacity for any concern for any other person other than as as a tool to be used by them.

  2. All FOUR tenants complained of bedbugs? City records show this as a five unit apartment, and no permit was ever issued to convert it to four units. So who’s going to prosecute her?
