Manchin Signals Crumbling Resolve To Protect The Filibuster

Dailywire

Democrat Senator Joe Manchin (WV) appears to have started to shift his views on the filibuster with remarks that he made on two news shows on Sunday morning.

The shift from Manchin comes after he has repeatedly stated that he would not vote to end the filibuster, despite pressure from the far-Left. During the interviews on Sunday, Manchin repeatedly claimed that he was not open to ending the filibuster because he did not want to strip the minority party of their power in the Senate, but signaled that he was open to changing it. 1. Exactly. They absolutely have to pass certain things, and the only way is without cloture. Nothing will stop their determination to pass HR 1. If they have to threaten the families of every holdout they will.

  5. Why do people continue to speak Manchin’s name as a moderate. He always speaks conservative foreplay, but always pleasures himself and his leftists.

  6. And why is the GOP not filibustering this proposal and why did it not filibuster the 1.9 trillion cesspool?

  7. When HR1 passes and gets thru the Senate with Kamala’s vote, it will be up to the States to mount a resistance to the unconstitutional usurpation of elections by the Federal government. The media will be totally missing in action, preferring propaganda over journalism. One hopes the Supreme Court rouses itself to throw out this bad law. The chances are very slim because they ruled for Obamacare and even made up their own arguments in its favor. They believe that any law passed by Congress and signed by the President is Constitutional on process grounds, content notwithstanding.

  8. I predicted this line from Manchin:
    “After much soul searching…”
    But he’s a Democrat.
    Democrats have no souls.
