CUOMO: I know, but you’re deciding when it is human life…
RUBIO: No, science has decided when it is human life.
CUOMO: Science has not decided it’s at conception.
RUBIO: No, let me correct you. Science has—absolutely it has.
CUOMO: Not at conception.
Let me explain. This is not the first time that Marco Rubio has had to explain the most basic science to our mainstream media. And I hope he does it again, because it’s absolutely hilarious towatch our media attempt to claim that “science” (invocation of which is best understood as an incantation of a beloved deity) hasn’t issued its ruling on the matter.
Over a year ago, Rubio said:
The science is settled, it’s not even a consensus, it is a unanimity, that human life begins at conception. So I hope the next time that someone wags their finger about science, they’ll ask one of these leaders on the left: ‘Do you agree with the consensus of scientists that say that human life begins at conception?’ I’d like to see someone ask that question.
The Washington Post‘s Philip Bump wrote a piece headlined, “Marco Rubio demanded people look at the science on abortion. So we did.” Except they didn’t.
Bump wrote a smug piece about how a pro-abortion doctors group says pregnancybegins when the human embryo implants in the lining of a woman’s uterus. He thought that this (recently changed) definition of pregnancy meant that implantation was when human life began, instead of when it actually begins, which is at conception.
If you are in any way confused about this process, here’s a very helpful and easy to understand animated video about it:
The video begins:
Fertilization is the epic story of a single sperm facing incredible odds to unite with an egg and form a new human life.
It is the story of all of us.
Cuomo is a lawyer, everybody knows lawyers are known for dishonest subterfuge, eh?
If Mario weren’t his daddy, he would be chasing ambulances and running a tacky ad on TV about how much money you deserve.
CNN, LOL, what an accomplishment!
“The science is settled!”
until it isn’t anymore.
Discovery. Refutation. Development.
THAT’S NORMAL SCIENTIFIC DEVELOPMENT.
“The science is settled!”
unless it doesn’t suit the Left’s purposes.
Conceal. Lie. Suppress.
THAT’S QUACKERY.
The part that is so insidious is where the Left talks about a “clump of cells” as though those clump of cells could be anything! (Queue Darren McGavin taking delivery of the leg lamp crate in “A Christmas Story”). Do they think that clump of cells could be another nose or arm? They’re just that stupid and easily led.
Years ago, I used to watch ABC’s Good Morning America, really out of force of habit. And Chris Cuomo was either the male anchor or at the news desk. And I remember thinking at the time that anytime someone asked him a question, he got a look on his face like your Labrador retriever does when they stare at you with dull eyes and try to make sense of a language they will never understand.
Bad dog, that Chris Cuomo.
Of all the ultra smug imbeciles on the left, Chris Cuomo is definitely in the top ten.
I realized, on more than one occasion, that Chris Cuomo is truly a dope. He has to rate somewhere among the stupidest in politics. He’s a pretty loud moron too.
Life begins when the first fertilized cell splits into two.
Oh hell, let’s just admit that life begins when the egg is fertilized by the sperm and be through with it.
There – the science is settled.
If it’s not life at conception why is there a “morning after pill?”
If it’s not alive why do they have to kill it?
Well, actually, since the sperm and the egg are viable, life begins BEFORE fertilization…
And yet, when does Meaningful Brain Life begin for Cuomo? Obviously not yet.
Should have asked Cuomo to explain, in exacting scientific detail, how a “lump of cells” transforms itself into a human at some specific time after conception.
Arendt wrote of the “banality of evil” – we can now write of the “absurdity of evil.”
