KAHIKINUI (HawaiiNewsNow) – A wildfire that broke out in southeast Maui Sunday morning has burned 330 acres, Maui County officials said.
As of 7 p.m., officials said the fire was 93% contained and are lifting the evacuation orders.
The Maui Police Department has temporarily reopened Piilani Highway.
Officials said the highway will close again on Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. from mile markers 20 to 41 for firefighting equipment and work.
No injuries or structural damages have been reported. more
I feel bad for the officials there not having any water near them that they could desalinate and use to put out fires and stuff.
I wonder how Lahaina is doing? I don’t see much about that fire recovery anymore.
