The rancher traced the boy’s steps and discovered that Buford, an Anatolian Pyrenees who normally patrols his land and wards off coyotes, had escorted the 2-year-old for at least a mile.

The Lord gave us dogs. We often don’t deserve them.
Good boy! I can’t stop smiling after watching that!
That’s one big dog, good for Buford in guarding and protecting that little boy and bringing him home safely.
Buford should be set up with treats for life!
Buford to the rescue! Good dog. He’s smarter and more responsible than the 2 yr old’s parents who let him wander off.
I’ve determined dogs are conservatives. And cats are libtards. LOL
That area of the country is full of things that will bite, sting, and eat you. Good thing the little guy ran into the mutt.
Dog/God, think about it.
Those are a very independent breed, put them out, they work without supervision.
“…Dunton said of Buford, “He loves kids, and I imagine he wouldn’t leave him once he’d found him.”
I’m not crying, YOU’RE crying.
a 2yr old walked 7 miles ? I’m all about dogs, but a toddler walking 7 miles is a head scratcher (I’m getting splinters from scratching)
That little 2-year-old boy will have a real-life Timmy and Lassie story to tell about how Buford saved him as a little kid for the rest of his life. What would we do without our dogs, sometimes I think that dogs are our guardian angels disguised as dogs.
That was not a 2 year old boy.
Rancher: “Did you walk all night?”
2yo: “Nah, I rassled a bear, drank a 6 pack, and did soduko puzzles.”
still a good dog, bad journalist
If this keeps up this kid will kill himself a bar by the time that he’s 3 just like Davy Crockett. And hopefully Buford will be with him when he’s not being a very large guard dog.
Who’s a good dog?! Who’s a GOOD dog?!! Good boy, Buford!!
Geoff the Aardvark – in this case, I wouldn’t be at all surprised.
@Brad
I call cats “DemoCats”, the only time they come to you is when they want something.

…I dont know what it is about modern parents. Yes, even back in the day a kid would get left in a hot car or wander the neighborhood a bit, but it seems quite a bit worse nowadays.
…for example, they say “put something important in the backseat so you remember your child”.

…if something is more valuable to you than your child, I think thats an issue all by itself…
Angels walk among us, tails wagging. No greater example of unconditional love than what dogs proffer.

Dogs Rule. Great story.
Who’s a good boy?!… Good doggie!… Here’s biscuit.
SNS, agreed. Many current parents are dysfunctional. Not acknowledging God’s principles is the major factor. Back in the day there was an effective deterrent for bad parenting (and other bad behavior) – “shame”. Fear of consequences was also in the mix to keep foolish and irresponsible people accountable. There is little societal pressure anymore to make people consider their conduct.
Current parents are also very distracted. Of course, social media is to blame. Unintientionally or intentionally too many parents are lackadaisical, zoned out and disconnected to their responsibilities to their children. Children who are destin to turn out as self centered as their parents. That’s alarming.
Good Boy Buford! You deserve some steak!
