New Jersey Film Festival Opens With Pro 2A Movie

Jersey Conservative-

New Brunswick, NJ.   When Oregon man Jeremy Bryant learned that his grandfather had passed, he decided to make a bold move.  An avid gun enthusiast, Jeremy would make a statement in support of 2nd Amendment rights.  He would hitchhike to and from his grandfather’s funeral, all while openly carrying a .357 Magnum on his side.  And he would film the reactions of the kind Oregonians who offered him a ride.

Jeremy’s goal?  To show that everyday Oregonians support open carry. So much so, that they are perfectly willing to pick up a stranger carrying a gun.

Jeremy’s documentary short,  “Hitchhiking w/ a .357 Magnum,”   has been featured at the Utah Arts Festival, the Let’s All Be Free Festival, the Toronto Smartphone Film Festival, and onSeptember 15 it will open the  New Jersey Film Festival .

Shot in Oregon, “Hitchhiking w/ a .357” was put together here in the Garden State by producers Thomas Francine and Dori Goikhman. Thomas, an Edison resident with a special interest in producing content which highlights the “greater good” of humanity, found that Jeremy’s project fit his theme in a peculiar way.

With regards to the unusual content of this film, Thomas states , ” Partisan negativity in the U.S. has reached a record high . Hitchhiking w/ a .357 Magnum puts a human face on a controversial subject, and I hope this fosters understanding and encourages positive dialogue.” Thomas also says – “What’s most shocking about this film is not that there is a gun involved – it’s how incredibly kind and trusting the people of the United States – from all walks of life – can be.”

This is on my must see list.

  1. The festival is only about 30 minutes from me. It’s showing this Friday but unfortunately it is a 10 minute short film 🙁 so I’ll skip it.

  2. Not to be picky, but it looks like he is hitchhiking going the wrong direction on a freeway. Also, even if it’s Elaine Ratakowski wearing a bikini, I still don’t pick up hitchhikers.

  3. Now, if Hollywood would only take notice.
Even if you don’t want people to have a gun, it’s marketable to anti2A.
Progs will criticize as if Jeremy were wearing heels to a hurricane party.
They love that Mother Superior feeling.i

  4. Gas, grass or ass, nobody rides for free.
I went a lot of places with my thumb, repay it sometimes.
.357 in the truck door pocket, a .38 in my back pocket, I like wheel guns.
    What, me worry?

  5. I used to pick up hitchhikers back when I was in my 20’s during the 1970’s. Nothing ever happened and I even hitchhiked from Portland to San Francisco and back to Portland in Aug. 1972 just before I joined the Navy. Nowadays there is no way I will pick up anyone up, maybe it’s because I’m older and wiser now, and maybe also because I’m no longer young and look at it as an adventure like I did when I was younger.

  6. Dadof4 – you heard what happened with Kai, right? He killed some wealthy older guy who had taken him in, said the guy made sexual advances on him. With the hatchet of course. I’m pretty sure he’s in prison.

Just ignore the law, get your mob together and put in power people who support your point of view, and the police will either stand down or lose their job. It’s pretty simple.

  8. I picked up a woman with two young kids on a back road once. Her car had broken down and she was stranded. She was strapped up with a wheel gun. The hammer scratched the shit out of the passenger side plastic door panel in my truck. Oh well. I appreciate this guys intent with the movie.
