All they pulled in was sparrows, they’re such mean little birds.

Just bird seed and peanuts. Need sunflower seeds to attract more variety, especially my favorite Chickadees.
Chickadees are so sassy. They even chase away the stubborn, glutenous blue jays.
I once had a chickadee trapped on my balcony. It was enclosed with screen and during the winter, the top part ripped a small hole due to heavy snowfall. That’s how he got in but couldn’t find his way out. Tried to capture it, but was too fast for me. Ivan was watching me from inside, so I opened the door to let him help me catch him. He quickly trapped him in the corner and I grabbed him to take him out the side door to freedom.
You know what that little stinker did? He bit down on the tender flesh between my thumb and forefinger. Here I was running to the door, “Owe, owe, owie, owe!” Threw the door open and set him free with no thanks at all! Had a bruise for days. Those beaks were meant to open tough seeds, and it HURT!
Then I went back to the balcony and poor Ivan was still looking for where it went!

I should try that with my turkeys.

I had 24 deer in my backyard yesterday. It’s the corn my wife makes me provide for them. I made the mistake of mentioning to her that we could get a birdfeeder. I’m now buying sunflower seeds in 50-pound bags.
No bird droppings on her nose, just good fun.
I’ve seen rings you can fill with sugar water to bring in the hummingbirds, but this really is going to limit.
The Quebracho Leafers
What does she do when the murder of crows arrives?
