NFL Removes “End Racism” From Super Bowl End Zones

National Examiner

The NFL has opted not to feature the phrase “end racism” on the end zones at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans this coming Super Bowl.

“End racism” has been sprayed on the field for the last four Super Bowl games. This year, it will be replaced with the phrases “Choose Love” and “It Takes All of Us.” Recent events prompted the change, according to NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy. More

  1. Geoff, Am also for Baseball and Spring training, just hoping they don’t change any more rules and would veer away from all of that Nike crap . Those newer uniforms are ridiculous.

  2. I saw the super game when the Seahawks faced off against the Steelers and was a disinterested observer. That is the first football game I saw in twenty years and the last one I have seen. I don’t know much about the rules of the game or how they are to be applied, but pro football doesn’t have anything on Portland Wrestling when it comes to it being a valid sporting event and not entertainment dressed up as sporting competition. It couldn’t have been more transparent and obvious that there was a predetermined outcome and the referees were part of the show.

Football certainly provides a great deal of entertainment for a lot of families. I used to drive past car after car headed to Seattle when I was headed out to the south to go bird hunting from October through December and on Saturday the colleges face off and Sunday it is the professional game. I know that because they decorate their cars with paint and flags and stuff.

I like to see everyone headed to the games and having fun. It’s not for me, but to each their own. I can’t figure out why there needs to be anything painted on the field other than the stripes and out of bounds marking though.

Anyway, back to the one I watched, since I didn’t have a dog in the fight everyone wanted my opinion on if the referee was applying the rules as they were explained. Well, from what I could see, the Pittsburg team was supposed to win and it appeared that the way the rules are to be interpreted is rather flexible and plastic and can be applied arbitrarily depending on which team is supposed to win.

  3. Apparently, racism may be making a comeback in the NFL. I hear for the first time in 20 years, there was a white player starting at a corner back position. Of course, the other 63 out of 64 corner backs are black, so maybe this racist situation is only a one off thing. Let’s hope so

  4. All sarcasm aside. what manner of unmitigated fucking gall would drive you to insinuate that the white sports fans are racist … There was a time when was racist, but that era was over by the first Super Bowl. I personally have never seen an NFL game where blacks weren’t at least a third of the players on the field … and I saw the First Super Bowl

And how many hundreds of billions of dollars have been spent on NFL games and telecasts, part of which is motivated by the good will of white fans who wanted blacks to have an equal chance to perform. And then they turn around and spit in our face

This has had an effect on me. I really don’t have a connection anymore. The games bore me and I was once a rabid fan
