‘No Way’: DeSantis Rejects Biden Admin’s Decision to Defer Pandemic Policy to WHO

Conservative Brief:
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is making it clear that his state is not about to go along with a Biden administration decision to defer policy decisions regarding future pandemics to the UN-linked World Health Organization, accused by the Trump White House of working to shift blame away from China regarding the coronavirus outbreak.

“We in Florida, there is no way we will ever support this W.H.O. thing. That’s not going to happen. No way,” DeSantis said on Tuesday.

“But you saw, I mean, you saw a lot of these elites advocate very pernicious policies…part of the reason people want to move here is because we rejected those policies, but they advocated very pernicious policies, including locking kids out of school,” he continued.

The governor’s comments come after the WHO has been pressing the U.S. and other countries to ratify a President Biden-backed “global pandemic treaty” which would give the UN agency more funding as well as the power to declare and then manage new pandemics.

Meanwhile, Jeb Bush, the 43rd governor of Florida who spent $150 million and could not beat Donald Trump to secure the 2016 GOP presidential nomination, has made an admission about his very Trump-like successor.

In a write-up for Time magazine, which named Gov. Ron DeSantis as one of 2022’s most influential people, Bush noted, “During the pandemic, most people stayed home, and those who didn’t probably moved to Florida. Despite relentless criticism, Governor Ron DeSantis kept schools open, ensured Florida’s economy remained open for business, and allowed individuals to determine their own risk tolerance.” more

  1. The “Global” agenda, in any venue, is an anti-“American” agenda, as we have seen over and over.

The International Court of Justice, the U.N., the WHO, NATO, all tools to mitigate US influence and put us on par with all the shithole third world countries of the world.

I can kinda see all the democratic countries forming a loosely based alliance to propagate trade, give other citizens the opportunities to have a voice in their government and protect civil liberties. But American sovereignty is preeminent. Our citizens understand that “Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed”, no such consent has been given to any foreign body.

  2. I’m sorry. I am having a problem resolving this “treaty” with the constitution. Presidents can negotiate “treaties” with other governments with 2/3 approval of the Senate.
WHO is not a government. It’s s world body. Does the Senate not have a role in this?

This whole ‘treaty’ constitutional requirement is why weasels like Bill Clinton cooked up what would ordinarily be a treaty as an ‘agreement’, think North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

    Not just no. FUCK NO.

  3. FUCK NO IS RIGHT!!! How much more of our sovereignty and freedom being taken away are we going to take?! This aggression cannot stand, man.

  4. From joe6pak’s link;

“just about anything qualifies as an ‘existential threat to public health’ including, but not limited to: misinformation, parents protesting at school boards, free speech, and – of course – racism. The fact that the WHO is on the cusp of unrestricted authority to decide these measures should terrify every American.”

Extending this out to its most logical conclusion, the biggest threat to public health (in their demented minds) is climate change. They could decide to outlaw the production and fossil fuels wholesale. They could declare poverty a health issue and mandate Universal Income. They could declare all law enforcement as racist and antithetical to the public health of all black people.

Klaus Schwab, George Soros, and all the other Davos ingrates are all for a controlling body telling us what to do and how to spend out money.

  5. My Blue Helmet action targets will be available next week. Of course it helps if you own a gun. Right Rich? LOL.

  6. It gets warm in Florida during the summer. The blue helmets will need ventilation, so the UN troops don’t get overheated.

  7. Damn.
YouTube appears to have deleted the real Tucker Carlson opening monologue on the WHO. I can no longer find it in YouTube and the article link above that was embedded in the article was replaced by an entirely different clip talking about domestic violence.

I had provided the original YouTube link in a response to another discussion, but, I doubt it can be found now.. YouTube has apparently scrubbed the original Tucker Carlson monologue. It was about 20 minutes.
