NY Governor Cuomo, Who Previously Used National Guard to Quarantine New Rochelle, Goes Bananas Over Potential for Quarantine of NY Metro Area

Conservative Treehouse: Take one heap of hypocrisy and one heap of irony and combine them; what you end up with is a New York Governor going bananas about the potential for the New York metropolitan areas being quarantined.

On March 10th New York Governor Andrew Cuomo called-in the national guard to quarantine a New York City suburb called New Rochelle. The alarming effort was called a “containment plan” by the governor to stop the spread of coronavirus.

However, Cuomo is now having fits as the potential for a “containment plan” over the New York City metropolitan area is being considered as a federal mitigation effort.

NEW YORK – New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has said that President Donald Trump’s proposed quarantine of New York to limit the spread of coronavirus would be tantamount to a ‘federal declaration of war.’

‘If you start walling off areas all across the country it would just be totally bizarre, counter-productive, anti-American, anti-social,’ said Cuomo in an interview with CNN on Saturday. (link)

Governor Cuomo uses national guard to create containment zone of New Rochelle, and all is good.  President Trump contemplates using national guard to create containment zone for New York city, and it’s a declaration of war… Gotcha. more

  1. Call Snake Plisskin you jackass and see if he gives a f–k!

And great job with the appointment of: Dr. Oxiris Barbot

She is actually worse than Canada’s Minister of health who is not an actual doctor.

  2. Ironic that New Rochelle was quarantined. The home of Rob and Laura Petrie….and their dishes….

  3. wonder how long, after this ‘Flu d’etat’ is over, will all those ventilators & other medical supplies Gov Cumhole has squirrelled away, show up on the Black Market?

  4. This asshole is such a self-important, arrogant but completely incompetent pussy, he makes me nauseous. How many more NY failures, Fredo?

It’s astounding how far a name can take you in this low IQ new America.

    Piss off.

  5. I despise Andy C. almost as much as I do Bill de B.

However, please sit down, take a few deep breaths, and consider for a moment the U.S. Constitution.

    (edit: PUT. THE MOUSE. DOWN.)

Internal to the U.S., police and public safety matters are not among the enumerated powers of the central govt. That means they are up to the states or the people (Amendment X). If the state of New York has granted its governor authority to use the state militia (a/k/a National Guard) to quarantine some internal area, then what A.C. did was appropriately legal.

The President of the U.S. has authority over the country’s borders and the movement of people across them, but not state borders. If President Trump had gone ahead and used federalized National Guard or other federal police agencies to set up an internal quarantine, that would NOT have been appropriately constitutional/legal.

Andy. C. is still a gaping, flaming asshole, though.

Well, thank you for utilizing it here—otherwise I’d never have seen it. It’s a truly inspired term.

[BTW, you can call me “ANP”—for brevity’s sake, and because there is another Ann Nonymous.]

  7. The sickening fawning of the press over Cuomo lately, verifies the theory that he will supplant Slow Joe as the dem nominee.

  8. Governor Edgewise Endlessly Bloviating Ocuomo will never get tired of hearing himself. If Dementia Joe Obiden Bama wasn’t such a pathetic candidate, even the MSDM wouldn’t be interested in promoting him as Poor Joey’s replacement. The Dementiacrats had three years to find someone to run against President Trump, and the best they can come up with is a incoherent old political hack this blowhard.
