Paratroopers Who Deployed to Middle East During Iran Crisis Arrive Home


Paratroopers with the 82nd Airborne Division who deployed to the Middle East in January amid a crisis with Iran arrived back home to Fort Bragg, North Carolina, on Thursday, according to a division spokesman.

The 82nd Airborne Division announced their arrival back home on social media, posting pictures of their homecoming. It posted on their Instagram account:

  1. The 82nd are the “All Americans” (hence the “AA” on the patch) but … ain’t that racist … or something?

  2. The size of some of those paratroopers must cause diarrhea in some quarters in the middle east. When I visited Fort Bragg, a whole bunch were over 6′ and well north of 220 lbs. Very little of their weight is fat.

  3. Nobody trains harder than the men of the 82nd. That trip overseas was not a vacation for them, I am sure they are glad to be home for a little rest. When you rotate on IRF1 for a month, all your heavy equipment is loaded on pallets at the airfield, strapped up with parachutes, ready to go. You spend hour at the range, classrooms, and train with the other units, waiting for that month to end. The mission is to be anywhere in the world in 24 hours, the these boys were ready for a fight. Welcome home!
