Plastic Found in Painkillers?

c&en

Researchers at the University of Edinburgh have engineered a strain of Escherichia coli that relies on small molecules from waste polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic bottles to survive. The synthetic metabolic process they designed converts nearly 100% of PET-derived substrates into the world’s most commonly used painkiller, acetaminophen, also called paracetamol in many parts of the world, including Scotland More

  1. The synthetic metabolic process they designed converts nearly 100% of PET-derived substrates into the world’s most commonly used painkiller liver-destroying toxin, acetaminophen, also called paracetamol…

    Fixed

I hope they re-engineer the bug to instead produce something truly useful, such as bacon.

  2. Did you unload dry, colored clothing from of your dryer today?

And you cleaned the lint trap, yes? While doing so, you breathed in huge amounts of microplastics made of broken polyester, nylon and acrylic fibers (etc.). In fact they’re still dancing in the air of your house at this very moment.

    Carlin’s Earth + plastic.

  4. ^^^ Hash Man
    There is no plastic
    There is glue
    And Wax
    And Shatter Glass Wax
And a myriad of other forms of THC extractions
    And THEY ALL are THC
100 percent pure THC (not possible in real world) is no different than 95 percent pure wax (a resin) or 30 percent and lower Cannabis Flowers.
You only need a DAB of the WAX
You need a whole Nugget of the Flower
That is why Hash is best
    Different Names
    Different Methods
    Same THC

It is the ‘other stuff’ added to it, as always.

    The Purer, The Better

  5. @Sticky Note
Glass wax is a product I haven’t seen in years.
That was a great product. We would use Christmas stencils to make angels and snowflake on our windows. Brings back happy memories….
