15 Comments on Great Dad Does Play-By-Play Obstacle Course
Cool! My 6-year-old granddaughter who is a little daredevil like her grandmother would love that obstacle course. And I can see my son building her one of those just because.

What kid would’n love that! Awesome!

Ever get the impression that Claudia spends time away from the IOTW site?

Great dad who built that, and next level for the video with play-by-play.

That’s awesome… Great for the kid’s physical development and confidence building too.

Quick call CPS….she’s playing outside!

I’m sure her mom cringes every time she’s on it.

Being fit, coordinated, capable, and able to handle the challenges of an “uneven” environment is something that EVERY CHILD should be encouraged to be. It is NOT a gender-specific set of critical skills. Good for all involved in making this young lady capable…including the young lady.

THAT WAS AWESOME! Well done sir!! Even ‘weller done’ little lady (john wayne voice).

Another vote for awesome here
I actually started tearing up a little there at the time it was over.
All of that was pure love.

Gasp! She’s playing outside without pads or helmet.

3… 2… 1… She comes home with splinters, scrapes, and bruises, and he loses custody in the divorce.
She’s not “playing”. She’s pleasing Dad and being made into a spectacke on the internet. Some of that stuff is actually dangerous. Try jogging or ballet lessons.
“Confidence”, balance and strength skills can be got without having a 5-year-old “practicing” on obstacles that, should she fall, can result in a serious injury.
He’s so full of himself it doesn’t even occur to him that perhaps long pants would be more appropriate. But that’s the least of it.
Of note, as I said, this child is not “playing”, as on monkey bars, or climbing a tree. She’s not learning kayaking skills. Or swimming. Etc.
At her father’s behest, she’s not doing free play with other children. She’s imitating American Gladiator TV show, and being egged on by her father, hurry hurry hurry because you’re a performer for my video audience (not particularly psychologically cool either; train up yet another tiktok attention seeker).

More learning happening here than my years of gym class!
The only thing missing was a competition with others aspect, but even without that, this was amazing.

Janitor,
No. Confidence is being built.
