President Trump says John McCain hoped to put him in jeopardy by spreading the BS dossier

DC: President Donald Trump maintained his attacks on John McCain on Wednesday, accusing the late Republican Arizona senator of putting him in “jeopardy” with the FBI by giving the salacious and unverified Steele dossier to James Comey in late 2016.

At a speech in Ohio, Trump also faulted McCain for not contacting him after receiving the dossier, which was funded by the Clinton campaign and DNC.

“I’ll be honest with you, I’ve never liked him much,” Trump said of McCain, who passed away Aug. 25, 2018, after a battle with cancer.

“But there are certain reasons for it,” Trump continued.

“John McCain received the fake and phony dossier. You hear about the dossier? It was paid for by Crooked Hillary Clinton. And John McCain got it. He got it. And what did he do? He didn’t call me. He turned it over to the FBI hoping to put me in jeopardy.”

“That’s not the nicest thing to do,” Trump added, while also criticizing McCain for voting against a Republican-led effort to repeal Obamacare.

Trump ramped up his attacks on McCain in the wake of court documents that revealed details about the Republican lawmaker’s handling of the dossier, which was authored by former British spy Christopher Steele. Trump’s comments have drawn rebuke from some Republicans, including Georgia Sen. Johnny Isakson, who called the remarks “deplorable.”

McCain and an associate, David Kramer, were first told about Steele’s report Nov. 18, 2016. At McCain’s direction, Kramer to travel to London to meet with Steele, a former MI6 officer.

Kramer obtained a copy of the report and provided it to McCain. McCain met with Comey at FBI headquarters Dec. 9, 2016. He long claimed he had no idea whether the allegations in the dossier were accurate, but he said the FBI should investigate. Unknown to McCain at the time, the FBI had already obtained Steele’s report through several other channels.  more here

  1. McCain was an anti-Trumper from the start.

Anti-conservative as well, he should have been in the Democrat party instead of the Republican party, but a number of other Republicans should be too.

It’s dishonest to call yourself a Republican while supporting the Democrat party platform.

  2. Progressives are progressives first, last and always. Establishment Republicans are progressives. Progressives are progressives first, last and always. Establishment Republicans are progressives. Progressives are progressives first, last and always. Establishment Republicans are progressives. Progressives are progressives first, last and always. Establishment Republicans are progressives.

This is what you can depend on from eRepublicans, it is the only thing you can depend on from eRepublicans. There is an order of magnitude or greater distance between eRepublicans and Constitutional conservatives than there is distance between eRepublicans and Democrats.

Constitutional conservatism DOES NOT overlap progressivism, they are hostile and incompatible world views. There is about as much overlap between eRepublicans and Democrats as there are points wherein their ideologies diverge. Maybe even more so.

  3. That 78 year old fart Lamar Alexandar from Tennessee stepped right into McCain’s shoes. How do we get rid of these aging seditionists?

  4. McCain didn’t just hate Trump he hated us and everything Trump stands for and everything we want for the country. So for DJT to continue to point out how good old war hero John had his fingerprints all over this fake dossier BS meant to take out an elected POTUS (something John could never be) is completely righteous and reasonable. And Romney and the rest of the pearl clutching RINOs aren’t going to affect anyone’s vote in 2020.

  5. McCain, or Romney, would have caused more damage to America than Obama. I know that is saying a lot, but it’s true.

    > McLame was fortunate enough to die before he could be hung for Treason.

America is fortunate he died before he could be hung for treason. That movie would be called “300 Years a Senator”.

  8. McCain’s legacy; elevated and protected by daddy and grandpa’s coat tails, silver spoon, unfaithful, arrogant, vengeful, unforgiving and corrupt. Other than above, I have nothing good to say.

  9. The process to handle McCain after he died shoulda been:
    1) Put the body on Lindsey Graham’s front porch
    2) Set it on fire
    3) Ring the front door bell

  10. The repulsive slug McCain was the democrats most effective deep cover mole.
