President Trump was right again.
To “Tariff” or not to “Tariff”, that is the question.
The ONLY takeaway from all of this is that GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO HAVE ALL of its power taken away. No single individual or 535 assholes should have the power to pick winners and losers or raise or tank markets with their words or the stroke of their pen. The founding fathers NEVER envisioned a government with this much power over everyone’s lives.
Xi fell hook, line and sinker for Trump’s plan. And now China has been isolated and Xi is left holding his little Winnie the Pooh pecker. Now it’s a battle of who blinks first. The rest of the Western world is cheering Trump on.
This is the new cold war – between China and the US. China has cheated, stolen, and thumbed its nose to the entire world. Their belt and road initiative lured desperate countries into the false belief of no-conditions money…until there were. Kind of like taking a “gift” from the mob. The world hates China. Trump has said enough is enough, time to put China in its place.
China is really being stupid. Along with food, they import from us a ton of raw materials. Aluminum, Brass, Copper, etc. Which they’ve suspended. So not only are they not able to sell to us but they can’t make anything either. Like I posted earlier they’ve backed themselves into a corner and could be very dangerous right now. And just in,
“Secretary Bessent told Maria that delisting Chinese stocks from American exchanges is firmly “on the table.”
Yikes
@Brad – “…Like I posted earlier they’ve backed themselves into a corner and could be very dangerous right now…”
I don’t know if this is a likely scenario, but could we end up driving China and Russia into an alliance? If so, that would be a great concern. Hopefully Putin knows what a house of cards China’s economy is and takes that into consideration.
Stirrin
Putin’s guys and our guys have been meeting and planing joint economic ventures. Freaking brilliant. I think Trump and Putin have a lot of mutual respect for one another. Plus Trump’s just bitch slapping the EU left and right. Which I’m sure Putin is enjoying the hell out of. I dunno. I guess an alliance between those two is something you always need to be concerned about. If we were intelligent we would partner with Russia, not the loons in the EU.
Brad – I agree. Russia partnering with us would be better for them than if they partnered with China. Also, a US-Russia alliance would benefit Europe since it would greatly weaken China and keep Russia from having any expansion aspirations.
Thug China needs USA enormously more than USA needs thug China. Thug China can’t let on it needs anyone or anything at all. It is the bully on the playground and can’t let the image slip. But, it ran into Trump, who unlike pretty much EVERY congress critter and official in the US federal government, could give a FU-K about their money, so he isn’t going to play the McConnell, Pelousy, Swallwell, eyepatch McStain, etc, game of betray for pay.
As far as I know, thug China is the only dribble dick country to retaliate… maybe Canada? The administration iterated repeatedly not to retaliate, to negotiate, to be cool and not panic. Thug China shit the bed!
This is “literally” a no-brainer. All of it.
China has a lot of people, but has never had the power of individual discretionary spending of Americans — even in the worst of economic times here. Even if China made everything in China for their domestic use/purchase, they don’t have enough Chinese who can afford it. I’ve been in a Chinese stores in China’s interior — away from Shanghai, Beijing, and Guanjou (coastal, tourist/business cities). The shelves are empty — and not because everything was bought-out. Local stores are supplied by local farmers and durable goods are shoddy.
Rather than China and Russia finding common cause because of tariffs, their relationship will come to an end. POTUS Trump is setting the pace and putting strange ideas into the heads of not only the west’s leaders, but all leaders. Who else could plant the seeds of turning Gaza into the Riviera of the ME, but Trump. Genius.
Up some 2900 points. Communists and democrats (redundant) hardest hit
Somewhat off topic:
Here’s a wild thought: ask Russia to join NATO! Fixes China’s attitude, Ukranian nonsense, and Euroweenie “attitude”, which actually would end the need for NATO.
The globalist media heads exploding would be entertaining.
President Trump please hammer it in further and break it off.
