Intersection of bad things on Boeing program. Some Boeing the airplane manufacturer, some Boeing the Program Manager, Some Boeing process stuff, some government, some industry, some Chi-Vi inflicted.
Program bloat and mission creep superimposed on an unwieldy process, at the end of the 747 production life makes for a challenge.
Late, late, and late again. Having some insi g ht into commercial airplanes, I don’t understand how the current airplanes have been “worn out” so it must be mission growth with government wanting latest equipment capability on 30 year old airframe.
…I kinda wish editors would get it together. This article is about 747s and yet they show me a 2 engined aircraft.

The Boeing B-52 is over seventy years old.
If the swamp had a hand in Boeing and Trump wanted a Boeing upgrade, what would he get? The same thing he is getting from the judicial system. Stop him by any means necessary.
The Gov just awarded Boeing a 20 Billion dollar contract for our next gen fighters. That was a big mistake. Their military and commercial divisions are run separately however same board of directors. Typically a huge project like this the rest of the defense guys get a chunk of the pie. I don’t have much faith in Lockheed either. Northrup Grumman is a pretty well run company but DEI really screwed that industry up.

I worked for Harris Corp (pre-L3 merger) for 34 years, for a division that regularly made money for them. It was a rolling dumpster fire.
