Rep. Pete King is the first Republican to sign on to the assault weapons ban

A reliable moron-

An assault weapons ban that Democratic leaders have been reluctant to advance despite strong support among their rank-and-file members in the House just got its first Republican backer — Long Island Rep. Pete King.

“They are weapons of mass slaughter,” King said shortly after his backing became public on Congress’ website Monday.

“I don’t see any need for them in everyday society,” King said.

The Assault Weapons Ban of 2019 was rolled out in February by Rep. David Cicilline (D-R.I.), with 190 other Democrats onboard. An additional 11 lawmakers signed on after mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, left dozens of people dead and many more injured, with King being among the most recent.

  1. The first to go weak kneed and buckle. Now that he’s stuck his toe in the water expect more to follow. That’s the way of the republican sheep.

  2. So the Left is making movies about Elites killing “Deplorables” then demanding that we disarm and ban guns!
    Who’s crazy?
Anybody who will bend and negotiate with them that’s who!!
Solve the real problems in New York, Baltimore and Chicago first Peeter before thinking about stepping on the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding, tax-paying citizens!!

  3. King was the first in the line to petition Pres Trump to aggressively clean up the MS-13 problem in his district of Long Island. Notice he didn’t call for the ban of MS-13’s “assault weapons” of choice, the machete?

King is another lifer in Congress who time has come to be put out to pasture.

  4. PhoxNooz won’t have to call. King seems to be always on “standby” in the green room or at some location ready to go with his pissed off attitude.

So ….. is he going to be taking them from law enforcement, who seem to have an abundance of them, as well?

After all, why do the police needs weapons of mass slaughter.

  6. He’s the shithead that had a congressional hearing on Islam and didn’t invite Pamela Geller or Robert Spencer to speak- the 2 foremost voices on Islam/Jihad residing in his backyard.

The things YOU don’t see, RINO, could fill the Library of Congress. HOURLY. 🙄

  8. Northeast republicans are democrats anywhere else in the country. Why they even call themselves republicans is beyond most outside the region. But it’s only partially their fault. When one lives under such tight control all your life, tight government control does seem normal.

  9. Here on Long Island, we’ve been protesting this anti-self defense, Fred Flintstone-headed RINO hack since the earliest days of the Tea Party movement. He always has been a POS!

  10. Pete King was a bag man for the IRA and collected funds for them that they used to buy the very weapons he says aren’t needed in every day society–
He’s a POS and always has been.

  11. Every time I’ve watched an interview of this phony POS rino, he’s had that ‘deer in the headlights look’.
Either that or having just fowled himself.

  12. I suspect it won’t be Representative Peter King coming to your house to seize your firearms.

Families like his are why the English ruled Ireland for so long.
