North Korea has executed five officials for their part in the failed second summit between President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, according to a South Korean newspaper.

Kim Hyok Chol, North Korea’s special envoy to the U.S., was executed by firing squad in March for being “won over by the American imperialists to betray the supreme leader”, according to the Chosun Ilbo.

The paper also claimed that four other North Korean Foreign Ministry officials were executed that same month because of the breakdown of the February summit in Hanoi, Vietnam, but did not provide details. More

  1. Could be true. But with the recent launches, talks with Winnie The Xi and Putin, and now this ‘news’, it’s getting close to trying to goad the U.S. into doing something rash. Or it’s to make the Korea Obama, Moon, look more foolish.

  2. Hillary Clinton would totally understand that action.

Waiting for President Trump to react to it. This is a serious problem. With the trade war heating up, I figure NK’s directives from their northern friends have changed.

  3. I like Reagan’s Law: “Trust but verify”, in this instance.

Li’l Kim himself was the one who met and was apparently “won over” by “imperialist” POTUS Trump. The rationale for these alleged executions makes no sense from that standpoint.

  4. Can we finally stop pretending that l’il Kim is anything but a scheming homicidal monster?

  5. It’s a Stalinist approach to HR. The organization brings in new blood while motivating all employees to do their utmost for the organization.

  6. The dead guys must have missed that “… up to and including execution” part in the disciplinary action section of the employee handbook.

  7. Strange that the first thing to pop in my head was the scene in Blazing Saddles when Hadley Lamar shoots a ruffian in the ruffian recruiting line for chewing gum and not bringing enough for everyone.

Gene Wilder comments “Boy, is he strict!”

  8. Yeah!
    Let’s bring full-blown socialism here!

    That’s the ticket!

“… when a man knows he is to be hanged in a fortnight, it concentrates his mind wonderfully.”

Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot, l’il Kim – they (nihilistic socialistic totalitarians) knew a thing or two about a thing or two – especially about terror – without which socialism cannot function.

  9. I may be called a asshole for this, but I still can’t understand why this dumb shit “warm beer” went to NOKO in the first place. And WTF is it suck a big deal because he fuck up and got his ass beat?

And why should this even have any bearing on the negotiations?

  10. If North Korea news sites report this, it is probably true. Otherwise this alleged report makes for steamy propaganda. It is the US government that is making all the threats to start wars. This country is the empire of warmongers, nuclear wars being the ultimate goal. Just need one false flag for those nukes to start flying. Even into the USA!
    What say you CIA/Pentagoons?

  11. @AbigailAdams: Ever since I heard Reagan say “Trust, but verify” (which he said was an old Russian proverb) I’ve always thought of it as a nonsense statement, or maybe more like an oxymoron. Which is to say: If you truly trust someone, then you shouldn’t need to verify anything. If you need to verify what they say, then that means you don’t really trust them.

    Makes sense to me, anyway.
