RIP Linda Manz

Linda played Peewee in The Wanderers, one of my favorite movies.

She was also the narrator in Days of Heaven.

She was also in the off-beat movie Gummo.

She had lung cancer.

  1. Gummo was so weird, especially that creepy kid eating spaghetti in the bathtub. Had to have been missing a chromosome.

  2. So sorry to hear this. I don’t recognize her name nor movies, but do recognize what small cell lung cancer (SCLC) does, even when not found in the lungs. Unbelievable cost if one does not have medicare and good supplemental insurance. Minimal percentage of remission.

May the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace in the loving embrace of our God.

  3. Gummo was filmed around where I grew up. Those tennis courts, the restaurant where they were killing the cats, the bridge over the interstate that Rabbit pissed off.

Up until a few years ago, I used to see the black midget walking around all the time.

Some of those people were exactly like what I remembered. Harmony Korine went to high school on the other side of town.

  4. @PJ

Much of it is in your attitude and beliefs. 3 years and going strong.

    Faith does wonders.

    RIP Linda Manz.

  5. I thought I was pretty knowledgeable of pop culture, but I never heard of her or ANY of those movies. Anyway, rest in peace.

  6. RIP
Unfamiliar with her work: but then, I’m unfamiliar with most of the people on this Earth and their works.

  7. Sorry to hear of her passing. Ken Wahl thank you for sharing, and tipping the news on Linda’s death.
My Sunday line-up The Wanderers and Gummo, today I’ll search them out.
And to Ken Wahl, they don’t make em like tbey use to, men or movies. I hope life finds you happy and healthy.
